Just checked OHSAA website...it has an Athens 1 and an Athens 2 in the sweet 16 matchups ....that’s gotta mean 4 teams out of each sectional.

Keep an eye on Zanesville. The Blue Devils were 6-1 going into this weekend, with their only loss at Newark. Coach Scott Aronhalt has been at ZHS since the early 90's, and has 3 Final 4's on his resume, including the 1995 D1 state championship. ZHS might be the favorite in the East District to advance to the regional at Athens.

In my opinion, Gallia wants to avoid Waverly or Zane Trace in a Sectional Championship game.

I really think a fully mature Zane Trace vs Fairfield Union matchup at the Convo could be ultra interesting. ZT is the 1 seed the next 2 seasons in this Sectional, but have a couple of important seniors this year that could push them. There's a chance that they could roll into the tournament winning 18-20 games.

Basically no league allegiance or affiliation with it being new...will coaches put Fairland #1 with 3 losses or will they side with Unioto? I’m well aware of who Fairland lost to but also know record sometimes carries more power when teams aren’t greatly familiar I’d other teams.

If Fairland isn’t #1 that literally messes up the jockeying of every other seeding placement in this sectional AND at Logan.

Where does Zane Trace fall? That VC game hurt...they need to rebound from that. I’d have them at #5 but not convinced they shouldn’t be #6

Blue devils must continue to win on this schedule that has really proved to not be very good.
