Hate to see that type of discrepancy on foul shots going against Boro but I knew if anyone could do it it’d be Waverly

Re: Hillsboro at Waverly Saturday at 4:00p.m.
Good win for Waverly going into tournament time. Gives the kids a good confidence boost. Beating the 3 seed and let’s them know they can compete for a District title if they play well, but it will not be easy as they know.
Waverly pretty much controlled the game from the tip, never felt like they were in real jeopardy of losing this one. Hillsboro has a nice squad and will be a tough out in the tourney. I thought the way they defended Waverly in the second half allowed Trey to really get going. They were playing everything tight, which in turn allowed Waverly to go spread and let Trey drive which is exactly what you don’t want him to do. He can finish at the rim, get to the free throw line and can find the open man if they collapse. Hillsboro did not have a guy who could defend Trey, especially when they were trying to pick him up tightly at the volleyball line. This win was also without Futhey and Stulley didn’t play the entire 2nd quarter. So that also has to be a nice plus for the Tigers, that they were able to handle the Indians with who was available.
