Looking at the brackets, I think it would be nice if OHSAA used ladder brackets for each district(s). Rewards the regular season results and with less game overlap, can result in more $$$ for OHSAA. Keeps the number of rounds for each state bracket at 8 rounds like it was with 4 divisions.

For SE, top 4 get a bye to the district semis on 2/25. Next 2-6 teams get a bye to the district QFs (depends on # of district teams in each division) on 2/21. The rest play in the 1st round with higher seeds hosting on 2/17. Only District Championship hosted neutral site @ Convo so top 12 teams will get to host a tourney game (15th & 16th get to host, but not teams 9-12 in D5 and D6?).

Here are examples for the SE in D4-D7. D3 actually uses this already, but with 11 teams in the SE & E combined for 1 district. If travel is still a concern, the 2 districts can split geographically like it used to be.
