Zane Trace kept playing, Ironton went into complaint mode and didn’t know how to get out once ZT showed they weren’t going away.

ZT took a lead and just added on behind a patient attack and really good D down the stretch.

Exceptional back n forth game. ZT crowd was lit. Exciting atmosphere and setting for a District basketball game. One of the better games I have witnessed this year.

ZT is steady, tough, physical and they take great care of the ball. If anyone can compete with Minford, that would have to be the mock up.

Want to make sure to not take anything away from Zane Trace. They didn’t play very well for about 3 quarters, but they played strong defense to stay in it until the offense came alive in the 4th

When Jarrell hit the 3 to start the 4th, you could see they started to believe and when Rippeth hit the corner 3 to go up 2, it was over.

What was going on after the game? After the hand shake you can see the Ironton Coach walking like he was going after someone, all the players stopped at Half court and watched, then a moment later you see the same head coach head the other direction.

Ironton always seemed to have a 4th qtr lead only to lose some of them!

Ironton was playing not to lose. There is a difference in running an offense and getting the best possible shot, but Ironton was just running dribble hand off and not even looking to attack. An offense that has a motion with all 5 guys moving and not just 3 guards while the other 2 stand there. I was impressed with how well Zane Trace stayed the course, did they not try to get back into it all at once. They ran their offense, got stops, and converted. In the 4th quarter, Ironton did not get many 2nd chance opportunities when they did try to score. I think Minford will win against ZT, but they need to be careful.

Barnes has been known to complain too much instead of coaching. This has happened in big games at every school, SP, St. Joe, and Ironton.
