I agree 100% with the sour grapes remark. sure oak hill was 20-0 and were definatly the favorites but as the oak hill fans are not gonna like this but the better team won the game.

For what??? The man wins one state title in his ONLY appearance ever and all of a sudden he is the greatest coach in thbe land!!!!!
I just don't get it. He never has won a regional as a DIII coach(and he won't again this year) and he gets all these accolades.
He coached in a league for all those years at Chesapeake that has sent maybe two teams to the final four in the last fifty years so for him to go 20-0 all those years was a joke. He quit playing the Burg after the 1988 season(which was a Burg win in the peakes first ever gamae in there gym) and Burg and Chesapeake have just renewed the game in the last three years. He ducked the Burg for almost 20 years in the regular season just so that he could have that shot at a 20-0 season.
I just don't get all the attention he gets, while Barrick coaches his butt off at the Burg and can barely win a district COY.
Must be a lot of politicing going on

Anyone know what Norms record is overall against Wheelersburg and especially the tourney record?
Just curious since he doesn't seem to have a lot of luck against the Pirates.

While Norm does get a lot of credit in the press, Coach Barrick recieves his dues from the most important source...other coaches. Just ask any other coach who does the most to represent this area and bring exposure to this area through the state coaches association.
Don't get me wrong, Both coaches have had great careers....I also wished that Coach Barrick would get the accolades that he deserves as well!!

I know that this now makes 4 losses in a row for Norm to Wheelersburg in the tournament:
2000: Wheelersburg comes back from a 11 point deficit with 2:15 left with a 17-3 to win the District title 59-56.
2002: Roles almost reverse from 2000: Wheelersburg holds off a late charge by 'Peake to win the District title 62-59.
2007: Wheelersburg beats a rising Oak Hill team 76-31 in the regional semis
2010: Wheelersburg pulls off the (mild?) upset of undefeated and #5 ranked Oak Hill 57-51 in OT to win Coach Barrick's 13th Sectional Title at Wheelersburg.

And that was because OH was in D4 last year and Norm didn't have to go through Coach Barrick to get there. He simply cannot beat Barrick in the tournaments.
I've been saying the same thing you just said for years. What makes him so great? Don't get me wrong, he may very well be a fine person but I'd place at least a couple of local coaches above him in basketball.... Coach LaFon of Ironton and Coach Barrick of Wheelersburg to start with...
Congratulations to the Oak Hill boys on a very nice year but lets keep things in perspective here. .

One of the best sectional games Ive ever been too. Bendolph was amazing down the stretch. The oaks were a totally different team when Ondera was not in the game. Great game from both teams. Congrats Burg on a huge victory.

All I got to say is wow great game...... And this just proves the point of Division 3 basketball... Oak Hill great year but Burg is a team to stay away from in the tourney.. Norm great coach but sorry to say that Wheelersburg has once again made you look like you cant handle D3 ball. Good job by the burg coaching staff... Go Pirates!!!!!!! Burg is Back!!!
