WOW
All I have to say. Two great teams battled it out and PHS won. Undefeated against the OVC, SEOAL second beat OVC 1, just what I said all year. Chesapeake is ridiculously good, but they are the only one in their conference that could challenge in the SEOAL. Panthers can play with anyone, but PHS proved themselves too. Hats off to the panthers, for a great year and a great game.
Peake
No disrespect, had a great time bantering back and forth with you, hope you will be with me cheering on the Trojans the rest of the way.

Re: Chesapeake vs. Portsmouth - Regional Final - 3-19
This is why they play the game, people had already bypassed Ptown and put Peake in the Final Four..This is what really makes basketball great, the tourny, where kids can work and have a second season to redeem themselves..I told you Ptown by less then 5 (see earlier post), you have to come and play and Portsmouth did..Hat's off to Coach Collins and the kids, brining some excitment to Ptown when it really needs it..Good luck

Great game Men of Troy! You made this Trojan have flashbacks to the 70's and 80's.
Also, it was great to see Jeff Lisath taking the game in. Once A Trojan, Always A Trojan!

Re: Chesapeake vs. Portsmouth - Regional Final - 3-19
pantherdad I happened to move to the upper level after the 'Peake game because I can't stand Portsmouth fans. Classless is barnstorming the stands and blocking aisleways and sightlines as many of the Portsmouth fans did during the last couple of minutes in our game. Clueless are the Portsmouth fans that tapped me on the shoulder and asked me where I was from...as I was dressed in Purple from head to toe...in the middle of the Chesapeake section. I guess they'll find out Saturday where we're from.
All I got to say now is how you like us now lol

You can't expect to blow a team out in the regional finals when you just let a team come back when you had a 20+ point lead. It's not going to happen. Portsmouth wasn't like those teams that Peake beat by 20+ and 30+ points. What a great game. Peake is an outstanding team. Well deserved to make it as far as they did. Portsmouth has a tough game Friday evening. Let's get the W! WE ARE ONE!

Re: Chesapeake vs. Portsmouth - Regional Final - 3-19
That was one of the most exciting games I've watched, and I've watched ALOT of basketball over the years. Great performance by Portsmouth, I'll be completely honest...I contemplated whether or not to come because I think Peake would win by 15+. But the Trojans played one heck of a game, but hats off to Peake--they are an outstanding team.
It's disappointing that these two teams are in the same region because both were good enough to make it to state, and that only one will make it to the Schott.
And as a side note, what made the game even more exciting is I was sitting about three seats away from TrojanDave, and I kid you not--I could literally see every vein in his head bulging out from excitement. What a great guy and awesome fan. Can't wait til Friday...GO TROJANS!!!

Re: Chesapeake vs. Portsmouth - Regional Final - 3-19
Here is a Panther fan i will man up and post...
1st off the officialshad nothing to do with the outcome i thought they were evenl bad both ways.
GAME RECAP
1st quarter: The Trojans came out jacked and ready to play with a great mind set. Made the Panthers go against all of their ways. The Trojans made chesapeake move to fast in the half court and forced them to take terrible shots. (1st QUARTER WINNER PORTSMOUTH)
2nd quarter: Chesapeake started to settle down and hit some shots but Portsmouth kept the momentum. (2nd QUARTER WINNER PORTSMOUTH)
3rd quarter: The Panthers came out and finally matched the Trojans main word being MATCHED. Both defenses did not play to their ability. (3rd QUARTER WINNER TIE)
4th quarter: At the start of the quarter it was all trojans then the PAnthers finally showed the will to win and took over late in the 4th bu it was to little to late. (4th QUARTER WINNER CHESAPEAKE)
Over all it was a great game to attend. Though the defensive battle we expected didnt live up tothe hype it was still one hell of a ball game. My heart goes out to the Panthers because i am and will always b a panther fan, but my wishes and respct go to the Trojans. GOOD LUCK!!! The only thing Portsmouth needs to work on is their Offense in the half court, due to the fact from here on out the talent level wil be increased and the athleticism will be superior. Last night it was more like a one on one show. But whatever works works.

He said in the post-game interview that the plan WAS to go to Ben dolph but Chesapeake had him coveret too well. How great it was for the other kid to take it on his own and go yhe length and flip it in the hole for the winner.

Re: Chesapeake vs. Portsmouth - Regional Final - 3-19
WOW what a high school basketball game last night at the Convo. Both teams came to play and my hats off to them both. The kids from Cheseapeake really showed how tough they are never thinking they couldn't win. With 11 seconds left it looked as though their belief would come true. The boys from Portsmouth had the same belief. They trust each other and believe they will win every time they touch the court. And that's exactly what they did, banded together to pull out a great victory. Regardless of what happens next week these kids have brought excitement back into this community. The place was packed with Trojan fans rooting for the kids like we havent seen in a while. The Trojan cheer block was the best I have seen non stop cheering the team to victory. The cheer WE ARE ONE was obvious last night great job to all the fans. The Drive For Five Is Still Alive. GO TROJANS!

You will notice in the video the separation Wayne needed came from Andrew making a cut to the right wing causing one peake defender to slightly screen the young man guarding Wayne..KVDW wrote:Even your coach thought that.biggdowgg wrote:TROJAN7....NICE CLIP...I think everyone in the convo, thought this last shot was going to be Andrew Bendolph,,me incuded...what a great game plan by the coaches..

Andrew was not only the decoy, he also provided the opportunity for the drive by Wayne Evans...
Great TEAM effort!!
