Regardless of how confident and passionate the Athens fans are.. you never degrade a player based on perceived physical attributes. I think you guys are going to regret that comment for 4 solid quarters of ball this Friday. Dyl Guthrie is a class act who happens to be an extremely talented basketball player. Why dont you let Dyl know how you feel after Fridays game when you shake his hand and try and figure out why you lost by 20+. Hey Dyl don't pay any attention to Larry the Loser. When an opponent has to degrade themselves to launch an personal attack on a certain player, they are worried about you. I don't think this moron knows you family tree, or he would think twice before degrading one of our family. It could be very hazardous to one's health.

I called coach mcneal about someone posting about a VC player. Assured me this is not an asst. coach, and better not be a player as well. "that is not how we want to represent ourselves". They are not supposed to post on this site. A good site for stats..etc. but... "we do not want to give any one bulletin board material." He said they have won 3 games in a week. THAT IS ALL . Minus all the ridiculus jabs that each poster has stated, I have yet to see any "real" statistics or any "real" observations that would resemble a factual predition of what will happen Friday night.

Neither team is like what they were last year ... Neither team has 'beaten' a real quality opponent. Although, the South Point victory could be seen as respectable as could the win @ GALLIA for the Bulldogs.

Prater and Guthrie are good players and Valentour (64 pts and 35 rebounds) through 3 games and PFAFF AND WITTEN are good players for Athens ... I would bet my house, every dollar I have in my bank account, heck, I would bet my girlfriend of 5 years that Vinton County WILL NOT blow out Athens Friday.

My guess is this game goes down to the wire with whomever has the last possession or is the benefit of a 'bad call' winning the game in the last seconds. 66-65, 68-66, 64-60 somewhwere in that neighborhood will be the final.

Just got back from practice and let me tell you the Bulldogs were sizzling. This might be the best Athens team in 20 years.

I have a mole at Vinton and he told me that the Vikes have been working hard, and eating even harder. They better eat all they can now, because on Friday the Bulldogs will be leaving a very bitter taste in their mouths.

Wow, I've been away on business for awhile, but am glad to be back!

Amazing how folks can get carried away with there posts. First, Dyl Guthrie is a good athlete and an even better person. Granted, he might be stocky, but he's still entitled to beat you into the ground and score 20(he just needs to get better on defense).

Secondly, I think the game between Athens and VC will be a good one........Athens is off to a fast start and VC seems to be gelling into another solid team. Its a shame that McNeal will be out for this game, nonetheless it should be a dandy!

Finally, Spicoli...you're rhetoric is absolutely phenomenal(that might take you awhile to digest)..........

1st off I dont think anyone would want your house

2nd, I think I speak for everyone on this site when I say we could do without a bank account that has a negative balance. Because if your money management skills are ANYTHING like your knowlege of basketball, you probably spend more time at check cashing places than you do at home.

3rd, Since your girl will be single after Friday night, just drop her off at Jacks on your way out of town, Im sure there will be some local gentleman who would not bet her on a game. Ecspecially a suckers bet.

Larry - maybe you should go to the Regal Beagle and have a stiff drink before you come to McArthur on Friday night. You will need it after "the heavy kid" gets done with Athens.
For someone who claims to not know the rules of the forum you continue to be rude and unintelligent with your posts. Just FYI this forum is for intelligent people to discuss sports, NOT to bash the players, coaches or fans.
I'm sure Dyl will get a good laugh out of your insight for Friday. I hope he has a good meal before he shows up, wouldn't want to dissapoint you.
