I'm not shocked that Oak Hill won the game, but I ma definitely in shock over the score. Have the Pirates given up?

i'm begining to wonder.

this could be a very short tourny run. if they don't start playin ball they won't even get to the convo. how long has it been since the burg has lost in the sectionals?

This is the list of Barricks Sectional Championships since he's been at the Burg, so by the looks of that they have won a sectional every year this decade except 2004.
Sectional Champs: ’95, ’96, ’97, ’98, ’00, ’01, ’02, ’03, ’05, ’06, ’07, ‘08

Congrats to the Oaks on the win. They play very well together and they know how to get the ball into the big man. There guards are quick and they get after you with that zone. They kind of remind me of the Burg from 2 years ago, the same Burg team that beat the Oaks resoundly at the convo.
Burg's team this year is about like that Oaks team from then. They are very young and will only get better over the next few years.
Keep your head up Pirates. I don't think anyone in the area gave you any chance at all and here you are tied for second place in the SOC. Play hard the last two games of the regular season and go into the tourney on a winning note.

Congrats to JD Hale. Buzz said on the radio he got his 1000th point. Is that correct?

That's what Roger Gray said also. Congrats to that young man. He played well in the first half as Burg had no one to stop him.

Lets move on to baseball this season is more than over. Don't look forward to next year it won't be that great either. Defense will only carry you so far, and for this bunch it won't be that far.

How about we get on here and support the Burg instead of trashing them. What people seemed to have forgotten is that this years team had one player, ONE, with any varsity experience at all and for them to have won the amount of games that they have is a true testament to the will to win and the desire to play the game that every athlete that plays a sport at Burg has. Like I've said on here many times before, everytime a Pirates steps onto a court or a field, they expect to win that game. Sometimes it doesn't happen, like tonight, but did they give up. Hell NO!!!!!!!!! They outscored the Oaks 10-0 to get to the final score of 49-32 at the end of the game. They were still hustling there butts off and for that I applaud them.
Oak Hill was the better team tonight. How they lost to Minford and Valley just amazes me, but that is the beauty of the SOC. If you don't bring your "A" game, you can be beat by any team in the league on any give night.
