Ironton 43 VS PIKETON 65 - FINAL
Re: Ironton 43 VS PIKETON 65 - FINAL
Glad I made the trip, I hadn't had the opportunity to watch Piketon yet. As pbuck said they are the real deal. I look forward to the possible matchup with North Adams.

Piketon definitely came to play. Never really felt Piketon was in danger of losing the game. Their point guard did an excellent job of handling the ball and running the ofense..Piketon penetrated Irontons defense whenever thay wanted.

The only thing I'm going to say is "Piketon played tough" I knew Ironton would be physical and they matched it and then dominated late in the 3rd and most of the 4th.

with all the talent ironton has to lose this way is an underachievement. i think lafon isn't the coach everyone thinks he is. give alot of other coaches the talent lafon has and they could take them alot farther in the tourney.

Congrats to Piketon on the win. Good luck the rest of the tourney.
To the Ironton Seniors, you guys will be missed. Mike Lamb it was great getting to watch you play this year as a Fighting Tiger. Jonathan Schweickart it has been great watching you play these past 4 years. Really enjoyed seeing you out there on the court as well as the football field. Good luck to you. Lukas "Mellow Yellow" Morris, what can I say about you? You too have been great to watch the past 4 years. Good luck being a Wildcat. I sure will miss you too.
It has been a fun year. Basketball is one of my favorite sports to watch and I hate to see this season end for the Tigers. To the others who will be back next year, I will be there cheering you on just like always. I sure wish you guys had gotten the win but I am still proud of all you. Keep your heads up.

Re: Ironton 43 VS PIKETON 65 - FINAL
Congratulations to the Redstreaks! Congratulations to Jordan Brabson on reaching the 1000pt milestone!
Congratulations to the Ironton Fighting Tigers on a great season and a great ball club. We all know that this team is better than the performance last night and that is the toughest part of losing in the tourney. I couldn't help but think, the same thing happened a couple years back when Ironton hammered Piketon on their eventual State Runner-up year. However, it doesn't mean that the lack of effort and class wasn't noticed. And as tough as it is to see the Tigers lose, their is a lot of respect from the Piketon fans for Ironton. Coach Lafon and staff; hats off to you guys; you do a tremendous job and as a former Tiger player, please continue to push those boys to be the best! You earn respect when you work hard; and in the end, you hold your heads high win or lose because you gave 100%!
To those seniors, you'll never forget what it means to be a Tiger and what that stands for. It is tough to see the season end with so many dreams, but the memories you have will last forever. I told Coach Arden before last nights game, I remember the night we knocked off Columbus St. Charles in the regional finals in '94 (before cell phones); he had driven far north to scout Wauseon; he pulled over at a pay phone to call to see if we had won he was so excited...Then to wear the Orange and Black onto St. John's court representing
The Ironton Fighting Tigers!..That loss to Wauseon still hurts me to this day..But we gave 100% and that's what it means to be a Tiger! ..Those are Memories that you get to share with your kids and maybe kids you coach one day...I share those same memories and stories with Piketon players today...And the rest of our tournament this year, there will be more stories...Never forget them and pass them on to future Tigers...that builds tradition!
Thanks to all the Tiger fans for the kind words and support...Hopefully we'll hear you supporting our Redstreaks all the way to the Schott! Go Streaks!!!

Losing is a bitter pill to swallow, but it makes it a little easier losing to a good team that has a former Fighting Tiger as a coach. Congrats Tom and Redstreaks! Hope you win it all. Go Piketon!
GO TIGERS!!!
