HE gets the worst dressed award for sure, I would agree with that. All the coaches were dressed up, some more than others . I was shocked, I know it is just a preview, but we all kind of got a chuckle out of it.

Nobody ever looks very good in this dress rehersal atmosphere. Platooning of players, mismatches, all contribute to that.

Athens I heard looks good, I know they did not play anybody but just their overall abilty of spacing and knowing where each other are on the court sure was impressive Their Point Guard is hands down THE BEST point guard in the conference, his work ethic is amazing and I am excited to go to Athens-Vinton County this year.. As for the Fed-Hock coach his boys put up 38 stole the show of the shriners and picked up some critics if you ever listen to this guy speak he talks differently, acts differently and coaches differently (courtesy of woub he wears a hate then too). Southern also looked like a long agrressive team and I am excited to watch them get out and play, Reese is just a monster when he wants to be.Overall everyone knows what these previews are and nothing was shown just a good fundraiser to help a good cause.

Great Job Fed...Got to talk to AC last night and was very pleased. You guys needed a game like this before Trimble week. Good to see Aaron M. hit some threes along with the 2 long rangers Torrence and Thompson ...I also heard alot of rave reviews from the freshman Parsons....Kudos young man..keep it up...Good job players and coaches...Beat Trimble!!

I don't think I've ever seen a head coach ever wear a hat while coaching a game, exhibition or not. What is the A.D. thinking? What is the Administration thinking? It's no wonder they get talk about all the time. Also Wellston is terrible. I wouldn't get to excited about this game. For that matter no team looked real good, but I'm sure no one showed what they had either.

I guess he missed the memo from the fashion police that there is a dress code for basketball. Perhaps he will realize his mistake and take out a full page ad in the Messenger and apologize for offending you. Jeez! As for getting "talk" (and the correct spelling is talked) about...you know the old saying. If you are talking about FH then you're leaving someone else alone!! Talk all you want...you put your shoe's on the same way we do....one foot at a time!

Good Preview last night. It was just that for the Bulldogs, a preview on how well they are going to be this year. Thought they played well and under control. Something that hasn't been seen for last four years. Good luck to the Bulldogs and Coach Skinner the rest of the season. Fed Hock coach may get the worst dressed award but Coach Skinner and his asst. Coach get the best dressed award.

no memo needed. this is the first time people are paying to see you play, i think it is common sense to at least take the time to comb your hair. no suit needed, but have a little respect for the event. by the way the suits looked leg-wait for it=andary .

Old Bird people pay to watch the game not what the Coach is wearing. Bill Bellichick is one of the best coaches in the NFL, he dresses like a homeless man. He has the rings because he focuses on his team, say what you want but this Coach seemed to do something right if he put 38 on someone. I am intrigued by all the negativity over a hat. I stand corrected when I said FH doesn't care they do care and next to Athens they put it in everyone's mind to be ready to play when they come to your gym.

... always good get a chance to watch high school hoops - even in the context of the Preview format ... even in the preview format teams gave us a glimpse of the talent they can put on the floor , some teams chose to not play some players - ie. Reggie Sims for Belpre sat out the Orange & Blacks contest with Trimble , others played split teams - not having ALL of their starters on the floor at the same time - ie. Vinton County ... all in all it was a good night to introduce teams and players to the Cheap Seaters such as myself ... thanks goes out to the Shriners once again as well as the men in stripes both donating their time in pulling off another successful preview ...

when the coach gets as many rings as "homeless bill" he can dress however he wants until then show some respect for the event.

I have never met or spoke to the new coach but I know he is young...less than 25 years old..lets just say he made a mistake. Ive seen older coaches make themselves look stupid in a suit including yours truely. Is everyone mad at the hat or at Fed scoring 38? I know it was a scrimmage/preview but they have had 2 scrimmages and havent look too good so this is big before the first game. If he made a mistake forgive the young man..lets see what he wears the rest of the time..bet he doesnt anymore but who knows he might start a trend and before you know it... Howie and Skinner and Kline might be shopping at LIDS for a new hat before the seasons over.... ;-)
Great job again Lancers

If the only reason you attend a game is to see what the coaches are wearing...perhaps you need to re-think why you are there!! Combed hair...it's 2009....it's stylish for the younger group to be shaggy. Does it really matter?? NOPE! March to your own beat Coach! It takes a bigger man to be different than to be a clone....dare to be different!

I don't know of an administrator who would approve of that attire, not anyplace, but hey, if that is what you want out in front of your team Lancer fan representing your community, it is none of my business.

As much grief as this guy is taking on here...he may show up in a tuxedo and top hat for the season opener!

I find it laughable that the fact that he didn't dress formally is such an issue. Maybe he will drress to impress...just for you all....at the season opener. I've seen well dressed coaches that I would be more embarassed by...just by their actions. Moving on...GO LANCERS!! Best of luck to you team!

he wore a hat, he is the youngest coach in the TVC most likely, he did not grow up around here, he went to the preview with a hat on, maybe he wanted to fit in with the shriners and their hats.

... my 2 cents worth - a "coach" , any coach, is THE front man for his team, his school ... AND being a new coach , like any other person as the new kid on the block , he/she needs to make a "good first impression" not just as "the coach" but as THE "front man" for the school he and his team represents ... did he or does he have to wear a "tux", a sports jacket & tie, a dress shirt and tie, a shirt and sweater, a collared shirt of school colors ????? all represent the school well ... anything that puts the coach on the level of a kid, a player (ie. wearing a hat) while he is representing his school court side IS the wrong impression to make - the Fed Hock coach made the wrong impression in his choice of attire to represent Federal Hocking High School - at least in the eyes of "many" who were in attendance at the Shriners Preview ... if the administration at Federal Hocking are "good' with the coach wearing hats court side - then THAT would be the admins call, that would be the admins saying THIS is a look that is okay as representing Federal Hocking HS to other schools, fans in the area ...
