Great Job Trojans! Looks like this team and Coach Collins are really doing a great job. Three really impressive wins in a row (Burg, Warren, and Jackson). Trojans continue to hit big shots and clutch free throws down the stretches of close games. GO TROJANS

Sounds like an exciting game, forgot all about them playing tonight. Congrats to the Trojans.

Good guess!!!
Sorry...not this game...
The Trojans will prevail in this game due to the January 20th defeat last season @ Jackson by a score of...
Jackson 71
Portsmouth 68
There will be no misunderstanding of the mission this time...
Good guess!!!
Re: Jackson @ Portsmouth
Portsmouth JV won with a three pointer at the buzzer I think the final was 34 to 33
Re: Jackson @ Portsmouth
Congrats to both teams in this one....geesh! A hundred things could be said to have been the difference...but when it came down to it...Portsmouth just kept making every shot late in the game. Forrest Johnson was all but swarmed on 3 later plays in the game and none of those shots even hit rim. Free throws were also huge as Jackson probably missed 7 or 8 more free throws along with 2 completely wide open layups. Both teams had numerous chances....many times neither team even got a shot off.
Jackson had about 8 steals in the 3rd qtr....but only scored 4 points off of them I believe as we whiffed on 2 lay ups and had 2 three point balls go all the way in and all the way out.....and then we missed our free throws. Jackson forcing turnovers kept them in the game and Portsmouth making many difficult shots kept them in the game.
Sr Dylan Newsome had the first 11 points for the Ironmen and went off for a total of 34. Jackson may have lost but I still contend that no player gets more out of his ability....every ounce and inch of it than Dylan Newsome. I believe through 4 games he is averaging 29 points and probably 10 rebounds.
Morgan Dobbins hit 4 big 3's and probably had 5 steals as his defense IMO is very much improved. He's great at jumping into the passing lane.
The Ironmen played hard all night (as did Portsmouth)....but seemed very passive underneath and driving the basket..almost anticipating a block or foul and it seldom happened but many underneath shots were missed. Portsmouth on the other hand just went at it and if they got blocked...they got blocked..if they got fouled, they calmly made most of the free throws.
Awesome display of talent by Forrest Johnson.
The game got very chippy and out of hand at times....but both teams left it all out on the floor.
The Ironmen will be ready for Ironton......and Good Luck to Portsmouth

Re: Jackson @ Portsmouth
awesome game and nice win for the trojans; both teams played well and both teams made mistakes but both teams played very hard and aggressive; nice job by both coaching staffs
Re: Jackson @ Portsmouth
one of the most exiting games I have ever seen, like posted above, this was anyones game,at any one time in the game.
Forrest Johnson, was lights out tonight, when he is on his game like tonight,he is fun to watch.
also had big games from Evans, and Tre Underewood.
Seth Bracthett,"sophmore" came in late, and hit 2 very big free throws to seal the win.
also, number 20 ,and 11 for jackson was great players, and had huge games

Re: Jackson @ Portsmouth
The sophomore did a nice job for sure. When he was fouled I looked up and he hadn't scored and I'm not sure if he had even attempted a shot....but swish, swish....no problem.
I'd like to know the free throw stats for each team.

Re: Jackson @ Portsmouth
we are always screamimg for Seth to shoot the ball from the stands,"maybe thats why we are in the stands"
,but he really does pass up a lot of shots, and he is a good shooter.
no doubt, free throws, hurt Jackson bad tonight.

Re: Jackson @ Portsmouth
I think the rado had PHS at 16-22 from the line and Jackson was 10-20. I was impressed with #20 for Jackson he was everywhere. Also Morgan Dobbins....that kid can SHOOT. He has a very impressive shot and you know it looks good right when it eaves his hand. Good luck Jackson the rest of the way out. Also I think what hurt them was their BIG man inside just seemed to always barely miss the easy buckets.
For Portsmouth, Fo Johnson had his best game I've seen him play. He has really turned it on since the Burg game. Tre had another nice night and Wayne Evans is really making alot of plays. He has been a great addition to the team.
JV game was really good game. Sloppy on both sides at times.
Freshman game was very painful to watch especially for the Trojans. Both teams had a lot of turnovers especially the Trojans.
JV game was 34-33
Freshman was 32-21? or something like that. Jacob Cook had a good many points for PHS
