Valley doesnt mind playing from behind...I know Valley has trailed by 10+ in 3-4 games and came back to win them all.

both these teams have that in common then,I am not sure how many games we have been down 10, but in almost every game we have played,we have been down at one point or other...

I still think this will be a great basketball game,I think both schools has a lot of respect for one another

I'll be going up with a Porsmouth buddy to see this game. Can't wait to be there. I know Valley is in the SOC but I really enjoy watching Portsmouth play and hope to get to see them play more so I'm going with the TROJANS! :122246 I know, you don't get that to come out of a West Siders mouth very much.

Good Luck Indians and GO TROJANS! :122246

Yates and Coleman were nursing injuiries. What is the need to play two of your starters when you don't need to?

not sure whats more confusing, a west sider rooting on the Trojans, or the fact that a Trojan and west sider get along well enough to ride to the game together :122246 :122246

by the way, there are a few of us eating at ponderosa In Jackson, we will be there at between 4 an 4 30 as we are going to take in both games, if you all want to join come on up, we will be in the back room...

I've told many, but I'm not the typical, pick a fight, bad attitude West Sider.

I'd like to join you guys but I'll be working until 5 and will be making it to Jackson hopefully just in time for the Oak Hill-Burg game. Thanks for the Invite

I like valley in thise one.....to lose of course. If it's a close game at the end, I say get the ball to Tory Horne and get the heck out of the way. Hopefully, Portsmouth can take care of business early and have balanced scoring but if not, when in doubt use your ace. Helps a lot that we got some quality bigs too. I feel it's important to feed them early, late and often. Both of the starting bigs have good touch around the hoop. All in all I don't care how we win as long as we win. Remember in the tourney a win is a win is a win. It's about survive and advance. Go Trojans

I think most everyone would agree that Portsmouth is the more talented team and they may play a little stronger schedule, but this is tournament time and Valley only has to put together one good game to beat Portsmouth. They have enough talent to do that. The reason Valley got seeded ahead of them is because they were 12-5 at that time and had some quality wins in there. I think Portsmouth was like 9-7 and had not beaten Ironton at that point. You cant blame people for seeding them like that. I think Valley earned the 4th seed.

Here is Valley's schedule and results:

South Point (W)
Washington CH (W)
Minford (W)
Waverly (L)
Huntington Ross (W)
Northwest (W)
Wheelersburg (W)
West (W)
Oak Hill (L)
South Webster (W)
Waverly (L)
Minford (W)
Northwest (L)
Wheelersburg (L)
West (W)
Greenup County (W)
Oak HIll (L)
Clay (W)
South Webster (L)

13-7

Portsmouth will be seeking its first sectional championship since 2004, when the Trojans defeated Albany Alexander 59-57 at Rio Grande........the Spartans came into the game with a 16-4 record, led by a very nice 6-7 guard named Hale (first name I can't remember). Andrew Newman made the winning points.......I can't remember if they were FT's or a field goal.......but then leading 59-57 the Trojans had to survive a last second shot by Alexander that almost went in.

If Portsmouth were to win Friday, it would be the school's 59th sectional championship.......the Trojans' 58 titles rank first in the SE District.

GO TROJANS!!

I would like to see the SOC win this one but I can't find any reason to believe they can. Portsmouth should win this going away with their starters on the bench in the 4th quarter. With that being said, Go Valley!
