Just went back to make sure the FACTS ARE TRUE. Last time Athens and Logan played in hoops was 2-5-13 and Logan WON on a three ball from Chance Cox (soph at the time ) 70- 69 . I almost forgot Athens was loaded with the above D1 PLAYERS . I did check the rooster to confirm . Logan was sub 500 if I remember. Was a great game and should be resumed in the future. Just my 2 cent worth.

Logan played them last year too, not just that kid, that team is dang good!

Logan is and HAS to absolutely schedule more teams from the Central District to get ready for the tournament. They have nothing to play for after this year and they need to play more teams that they will be competing with in the postseason. Logan's new coach comes from the Central District and now with the situation with no league title to play for, you're forced into a situation where you must prepare your kids for a tournament run. IMO even if they do find a league they need to continue this trend for the same reason. You need to face the same level of competition several times so you know what to expect.

... I totally agree with LogangradKD ... Logan will be moving its' schedule up Rte 33 in hoops ... IF you want to have any impact in the post season you have to play Above the Lancaster-Dixon Line D1/D2 speed/athleticism/strength/size ... you have to play/see teams which compare to the teams you will play in the post season just as LgradKD posted ... Coach Rider with many successful years at Reynoldsburg knows where he has to get the LHS program in order to compete in the Above the Lancaster-Dixon Line ...

... I'm looking for Logan to try to gain entry into the MSL again ... with the new principal at LHS having many MSL ties/connections I can see a better opportunity for the Purple to make the drive up Rt 33 as a member of the MSL at some point ... I am making that statement with NO inside information ... I make that statement as an outsider looking at the cards on the table ... looking forward to seeing where we land in the next couple of years for sure ...

Pfloyd........I'm with you on the Logan to the MSL thing. I'm pretty sure most of the Fairfield County schools in the MSL are behind it but it's the others that are up around Columbus that I believe are the ones fighting it. Heck they are still complaining about coming all the way to FU, one of the founding members of this league. We would love to have Logan in the league here in Falcon country.

New superintendent also has close ties with the MVL as well. Still some uncertainty with the Licking Valley League's big schools (Watkins, Licking Hts, etc.). Don't think its a coincidence those teams are on the hoops schedule.

But I agree that the MSL still seems like the best option. Hopefully they can get some things in order to make it palatable for some of the doubters to accept Logan.

At the end of this school year Logan will be an Independent and Warren will be heading to the OVAC.

Yea, but they had no choice after switching leagues. Week 10 was not an option anymore. It wasn't because logan was good & they didnt want to play them anymore.

The game hadn't been scheduled for week 10 since like 1998.

Logan and Athens played week 4 in 2006 and 2007. They had an agreement to play in week 3 for 2008 and 2009. Athens backed out at the last minute. Logan had to sign a two for one deal with Hamilton Township (and we never got the home game) just to fill the schedule.

Athens played Bloom Carroll instead.

So yeah, there are still a lot of hard feelings there.

And while I don't know doubt 93bulldog has been told the story about Logan's coach calling Skinner, I can tell you the story I heard in 2014 was that Athens wanted to move the game around because they were going down to Florida to play in a tournament. Logan couldn't move the game. Had nothing to do with Burrow.


I just think both schools should bury the hatchet (so to speak) and get over it. Would be a good game and good gate.

Should be a good scrimmage for both teams . Scrimmages are for feeling out your team as a coach and working on a number of different things that you may need in the regular season so I do not put alot of what's is and what 's not. Both teams will be talented with Logan having the tougher schedule for sure, no doubt about it. One of the smaller D1 will be going against large D1 SO you can say that the Chiefs are not running from anyone at least any more.
