....too many of the leaders of the cheer block not going/being able to go to the game doesnt help...add that to the fact that it seems like any of the underclassmen do much cheering at all...would very much like to see a nice exchange this week however...

should be very exciting game...can't wait to watch this!

disagree...burg draining outside 3s, dishing to steg when guarded...close whole game...bugr pullin it off
I think this will be a good game, but from what I have heard from Burg fans on other threads this season is they tend not to shoot well from the perimeter/downtown...I am not saying they are not a good team just have had troubles scoring at times. Anyone???

pretty streaky...some games they drain everything, others they aren't even close...but i think that now that tournament time is here they know, and Tom knows that they have to buckle down and get serious about it all...i look for them to have a good hard week of practice and come out making shots....but then again i could be completely wrong

Peebles will knock down their share of 3's.I know Mcbee and Webb can both shoot the 3.Mcbee made 2 or 3 three pointers early in the Valley game and didn't hardly shoot the ball the rest of the game. They will need to shoot well to have a chance.

Massie can also shoot very well. I believe he had 7 3's in a game earlier this year.

Well...Peebles has had little to no luck againt Wheelersburg at the Convo in the past, so I would not be supprised if the Burg boys find their stroke from the perimeter against us. However I still think this is the year that the Peebles boys finnally get some long overdue payback -vs- the Burg. Good luck Indians!

It's a different year, a different decade, a different millenia, and a different team. History has no bearing here at all, except it gives us something to talk about before the game actually starts. Once the ball is tipped, our boys will make their own history.

I'm pretty sure we played them at the Convo this past decade when Michael Chesbro & Co. lost to them in the semis not sure on the year but deffinately this last decade. Burg had a Burleson boy that was tough.

I'm taking Peebles but Coach Barrick will have his Pirates in this one. I think Justice will make the plays to pull the win out for the Indians PHS 67 WHS 60

Wheelersburg is 11-2 at the Convo over the past 5 years, but they are definitely the underdog in this one. The outside shooting will have to be on and Burg will have to control the tempo. If those 2 things happen, it will be a close game!

GO PIRATES!!

:-D Burg won the SOCII competing against teams like Valley, Oak Hill, Waverly, and South Webster so I dont think they are very big underdogs. Peebles has a good team this season but its gonna take a strong team effort to come out on top in this district tourny against perennial district/regional contenders like the burg and Ironton.

My bad (jchitwood) I meant last decade. I was off by a few months...I corrected it. Wow man I am getting old. I know the past doesnt mean a thing, but it would be nice to win this time around. Wouldn't you agree jchitwood? Anyways good luck to both teams but just a little more for the Indians on what I am sure will be a good game.

Is this game going to be broadcast? What station? Since it's an afternoon [daylight] game I might be able to pull in the signal here in Ironton from a Portsmouth FM station - 99.3 [??].

MARCH 6
Peebles vs Wheelersburg 2:00 pm
Meigs vs Ironton 3:45 pm
Winners to District Championship game 3/12 5:00 pm

I'll obviously be listening to WIRO 1230 AM for the Ironton game at 3:45 and posting updates.
Can I hear the Wheelersburg game on the radio too??

caglewis: I would say there is no doubt that WNXT will carry this one. The only thing you might check is that it might be on 107.5 instead of 99.3

they have been covering games with both of those stations.

FM Station 103.1 West Union will carry the game but I'm not sure if you can get it in your neck of the woods. I'd say 99.3 will have it as well, they had Burg last week playing Valley.

99.3 or 107.5 will have the game on. Roger Gray said they would be there.

If Burgs outside shooters aren't on in this one it will go south quickly for them if Peebles is scoring. They can't rely on Stegman to do it all. Someone else has to step up. Hopefully Ballard, McBee, and Massie will be hitting from behind the arc and loosen up the paint for Andy to work.
