As coach hill has done the whole summer league he plays his starters 5 mins then subs freely at times having 4-5 freshmen on the floor, with 3 varsity players missining they played ok SG has 0 depth so the starters play the whole game. That could be a big problem this season and rv is a lot quicker and taller. Hard to watch 1 game with 3 floors going

I've seen both teams play this summer up @ Jackson. River Valley does have quicker and taller athletes, but South Gallia has better "basketball" players IMO. Depth could be a problem for them but I would definitely take SG's starting 5 over RV's.

As far as starters i was impressed with sg they seemed to foul a bit much but they looked like they have played together for years. they arent deep.
rv surprisingly have some nice athletes the one boy is a dead eye shooter, from what i have heard from an assistant coach may press a lot and could play 10 kids in the rotation?
I saw them against wellston and southern they had wellson beat but missed fts and really handled southern that night. The youbg head coach looks to play them all

Blue Southern beat RV and SG so they didn't get handled by either of these teams.

The Southern RV game was very close the SG vs Southern game wasn't. Hill rotated his 12 players a lot of Freshmen and Sophs and stayed competitive. I watched the game with the Jackson Principal and X Tornado we were impressed with both teams both are very athletic!

Its summer Ball and Racine looks good with good athletes good luck to them, bunch of good kids!

Just to clarify RV went 0-10 and lost every game by double digits. The first game I watched they lost 40-15. Scoring 15 points in 40 minutes of basketball is completely unacceptable even if it is using a running clock. Both of the starting guards were very turnover prone but in their defense that is somewhat a product of the offense they run IMHO.

Since your clarifying stuff:
Rv did go 0-10
They play 14min halves so they played 28 min games 40 ?
I was at every game they didn't lose every game by double digits only 3
They lost to wellston in sudden death ot lost to southern by 8 that was a3 point game with 2mins to go
Lost to athens by 4 the first time in a shootout.
Jackson oak hill and nelsonville were by big margins.
On the night your talking about rv s best post player and leading scorer never played.
Coach hill also rotated freshmen and jv in the entire game every game.before you comment on something you should be there?
You have a kid at rv? If so looks like another parent who knows more than the varsity coach, relax your not the first lol

Just curious what is your definition of a shootout in the first Athens game?

I was there that night and every game I saw them play it was double digits.... I was going on the word of another parent so if I was wrong I apologize for that bad information. Maybe I was wrong on the timing of the halves but if so that means you think that 15 points in 28 mins is acceptable???

And RVs BEST POST PLAYER is an incoming freshman who doesnt want to play basketball for them just like 4 or 5 of the best incoming freshman are not playing either. What a shame..... Yes I have a 9th grader that didn't play last year and one who played basketball at RV junior high last year as an 8th grader..........

It appears the post on RV basketball was deleted for some reason????

their post always disappear after people complain to get it removed usually when the truth starts hurting to much. If you watch anytime things go bad for RV you watch it will be removed. Their the only thread that usually gets taken off because of whats being said it hurts to much to listen to a lot not all but alot of truth about the programs. They can't have that much negativity floating around. Can't you see the programs have been hurting for 18 yrs. LOL!

Why is he playing jv and freshman at varsity functions? How is this making your varsity better by watching instead of playing? There were all kind of jv shoot outs that the younger kids could have played in.

Well blue n gray u must be from the county because you seem to know it all or at least seem to anyway. As usual you got the facts wrong record was 3-44 lol and yes very proud of the accomplishments of the program I figured at least you could count again like in my early post people post things that aren't always accurate. Wasn't downing the kids or program was simply stating if you read through b.s. on here there is truth to some things which I was pointing out even if things are negative but accurate you can learn from mistakes or problems that have occured in the past. As for my record I did everything coach asked me to do for the program and wish them well I would rather be 3-44 and know I did everything that coach wanted to get done. Of course you would probably want a 47-0 jv. record and have me say ooooohhh look what I did key word is I idiot. It's about building the program not about me or what I did or any kid or other coaches but of course your part of the 18 yr. problem instead of the solution. Yeah I spoke on behalf of my kids at the banquet because they were deserving of it and wasn't an hour 20min. but hey sorry to ruin your evening forgot it was an evening for you getting a free meal. oh by the way it was free and on the team so hope you enjoyed it. As usual you were inaccurate once again the other coach was the freshman coach that won with the j.v. and yes they won but also lost next game by 24 and the following game by 13 and had a 3 pt lead at halftime oh we should get rid of him to huh he blew a halftime lead in a j.v. game lol. Just be real negative or positive just be real and honest hey blue and grey heard there are two positions open you sure your not interested coach hill is probably knocking down your door right now with all your inaccurate knowledge of his program LOL! go getm raiders you guys will be fine win or lose.

^^^What are you talking about?
3-44. Wowza.
It's no wonder Hill is looking to leave.
I don't ever remember that program being that far down.

The program is no farther down than eastern is,Hill is not looking to leave, or maybe you have proof of that from some source?
Yes the program is Down because the same thing that has been going on since Carl Wolfe coached at RV. Too many parents and students not wanting to do what it takes to win. LAZY people.

Yea GatorBait i have grand kids at RV and GA both programs are in a sad state, mostly because of who we have running the youth basketball programs in this county. yea i live in gallia county lol
Why don't you crawl off to mercerville drop your comments about RV ?
they don't need any help being bad. your classless

pifer: if you want to keep your kids from playing hs ball fine don't come on here and bash the program, your clueless about basketball, the kids your talking about are either spoiled brats or have big time attitudes, talent is fine in aau and rinky dink. most coaches could care less about summer league games ask them, as far as what is acceptable. your freshman post player is better than austin lewis? what a joke! if they are so good why didn't you call coach hill and schedule a scrimmage during open gym which they had 2 times a week? my goodness!! lol

Blue nd gray u amaze me I'm not arguing with you but again just some facts your an RV supporter so you say and a Coach Hill Supporter which is understandable as should everyone involved. The fact of the matter is the person you support is the same person you just ran down and threw under the bus. He's the head of the youth program at RV so again I figured you should have known that he runs it all from bottom to top just ask him.I also figured you had some link to a child. You stated on another thread that Dom Peck wasn't a team player like or dislike certain kids or their style of play stats and film don't lie. He led in all defensive stats to earn him defensive player of the year as well having best offenive stats which he earned best offensive player as well course if you hadn't eaten that big meal at the banquet and dozed off during my speech you would have heard and seen that. LOL just playing had to poke fun of myself for my speech. We all mean well some just have a fence post or two that they constantly wanna ride.LOL!
