Although Western didn't win either game at be classic this weekend, I think the two games will only help these young men mature. Totally outclassed by Piketon, but no Senior leadership will cause games like this to get out of hand. The boys played much better, and more composed vs Waverly last night. Played good defense, and took advantage of Waverlys big men missing. Good to get Fite back on the floor, showed some grit, played well. Garrett is really coming along, and Brewster played good. The only problem I can foresee with this team getting better, and gelling this season, and next is the parents. Too many of our parents are more worried about how many their kid scores instead of how many wins we have. Don't know how this can be fixed but its gotta be about the team, and not your kid! Sometimes we have to realize that our kid REALLY isnt a SUPERSTAR! heard a parent told tbe coach last night (how do you keep the best kid on the floor on the bench). we dont need that nonsense. This team needs everyone's support to succeed. Stop talking about the coach to the kids, not getting anywhere by doing that. Let the coaches do their jobs, and maybe we can get somewhere. This team is young, and needs time to grow TOGETHER.

Back to Soc 1 schedule on Friday, and looking forward to Western continuing to get better against New Boston. Boys need to continue to play like they did vs Waverly last Saturday. If we can limit those Inexperienced turnovers we could make some strides this season. Keep working hard Indians.

I thought the Indians played a good game against Waverly. If they play like that, they will win some games in the SOC1

Thanks Eaglesnest! I know the boys would appreciate it too. Its been hard on them this year being so young, and having to learn on the fly. I am really proud of how they showed up on Saturday after taking that butt whoopin on Friday. I know when I played back in the day it really helped having that Senior leadership, and not having anyone like that on the team this year has hurt a bit. I like their resolve though. I know its making them tougher. They just need to learn to win the games that they should win, and then go after a game that noone expects them too. At this age its all about confidence. It was really fun to watch the upper class leadership of the Eagles the other night in Waverly. I hope we can get there in the next couple of years.

No sorry! We played poorly. Started off good then went away from what was working. Lucky to win. Props to New Boston. Played very well last night vs Southeastern. Lost 72-60. 3 in double figures and one with 8. If we had cut down in to's it would have been tight. Best team ball we played all year.

Western hosts Notre Dame on Tuesday. Gonna be a big test for the young tribe. Expect these boys to be ready to be competitive in this game. Don't expect them to win this one, but a good measuring stick for them. This one could get out of hand quick. The boys need to keep their composure early to weather the storm.

Notre Dame is big ,strong, and fast they have the type of team they can play about any style of basketball the game calls for. Good luck to you guys anything can happen that's why they play the game.

Well it's time to man up Indians this team(Notre Dame) ain't no joke. Going to have to have everyone on their game. This team needs a win vs someone their not supposed to beat. Gonna be an uphill battle though.

Western has to keep there head in this one. The Titans are heavy favorites . Western has to win the games there favored in so they can avoid meeting this team or Webster come tourney draw . They need to handle Green,New Boston, and there next game against Clay could be huge come seating time.

Western boys looked like they were beat before this one started. Getting really tired of all the excuses flying around as to why they havent come around yet. Folks its not the coaches fault when our boys are getting 29 turnovers a game. Not going to beat anybody that way. I personally will not use the age excuse again, its been half a season now. Plenty of game experience at this point. The only way this gets fixed is with the players. They have to search deep, and find their heart, because its been absent this season. This game against ND was easy to get up for. No excuse to not be competitive every night they step onto the floor. Believe me when I say Im not taking anything away from ND they are a very good team, but we never looked like we wanted to be there last night. Sad when the fans are more up for the game, than the players. All the talk a couple years ago about this team was destined to be great looks like foolish talk now. This group has to find their identity, and play hard each time they are on the floor, whether it be in practice, or in a game. No leadership by ANYONE on this team. Someone has to buck up, and be the floor leader, and rip some butt every once in a while. It is time as a player to lay aside your personal goals, and pick up and carry the load for the betterment of the team. Noone remembers a player who excells from a bad team anyway. If they dont come together, and I mean NOW, we may win 1-2 more games this season with a quick one and done in the tournament round. I love to watch Western Basketball, but this thing we see on the floor every night is not Western Basketball. Every person I talk to has an idea on how to fix this team, but the only people who can fix this is the PLAYERS!!!!!

Finally! The Indians put it all together last night in a league game vs the Eastern Eagles. In my opinion last night was the determining game as to whether the Indians would be able to pull together, and play TEAM ball. If your an Indian, and you cant get up to play the Eagles, then you better check your pulse. I believe they accomplished their goal. Cut down on a few mental lapses with turnovers, and do a little better job on Lands (which is next to impossible), and they are in the game at the end. The absolute best toughness I have seen from this team in a long while. Defense was good, and outrebounded the Eagles also. Lands was the difference maker though, kid is a knock down shooter. He hit some shots with two guys in his face. Now, the Indians need to let their play carry into the remaining games, and finish strong. Last night was a glimpse of what we thought this team could be, now they have to come with it every night, cuz now we know they can. The Senior leadership of the Eagles was not going to let this game slip out of their hands. That is what this team needs to grow into. Was proud to be an Indian last night. Keep working boys!

Stick a fork in them, this team is done. They are going no where in the foreseeable future until they get the selfishness out of their system. One player controlling the whole offense, and keeping the rest of the team handcuffed. Too much talent on this team to be going one on 2-3 or 4 players instead of looking for the open man. They are playing just like they did in JR high, and every man 4 himself. Feel really bad for the players who REALLY want to win, and not caring about the 1000 point club. This ain't Western basketball. I don't even know what this is?????
