Athens DII DISTRICT

The Vikes were also without starter Alex Owings as well.93Bulldog wrote:Vinton County also played LE without Jordan Kidd, which makes a huge difference for VC when he is not in the line-up.

Re: Athens DII DISTRICT
LE has lost to Bloom-Carroll, Eastern Brown, Fairfield Union, Canal Winchester, Circleville and Athens.
I figure with VC having three losses that they'll get the three. Makes for an interesting rematch against FU, which is playing a lot better right now.

Re: Athens DII DISTRICT
The Logan sectional should be pretty much locked in at this point with Warren, Athens, VC, LE, Sheridan, FU, Marietta and Gallia/New Lex in the 8/9,
The SE sectional continues to be very wild. Top four will be WCH, MT, Fairland and Unioto in some order. I imagine Chilli is a team a lot of folks don't want to play right now. I'd bet they are matched up against Fairland or Unioto. That gives the SCOL a decent chance at getting three out to the Convo with Waverly, Circleville and Jackson in the way.

What has Marietta done to be ahead of GA? Marietta has not beat 1 d2 team. Marietta wins- 2X Frontier D4(4-13), Rosecrans D4 (2-15) , and Coshocton D3 2X (5-13)
Re: Athens DII DISTRICT
Marietta plays in a tougher league. The two teams are similar record wise so flip a coin if you want.

I've seen Marietta and Gallia. Imo Marietta is the better team. I've also seen WCH and I honestly feel like Marietta is a little better than the Blue Lions as well. I know CH has had a great season so far, but I see them getting bounced early against a team with good perimeter defence.

I don't understand why you have to constantly hate on Marietta charlie. The tigers are a young team and most of these kids have not played all together considering only 2 on the roster had seen varsity minutes before this year and one of them is now out with a torn acl leaving them without a true point guard. They play a tougher schedule than most teams in this district do and they do lose a lot against very good teams. No they have not beaten a good team yet this year but if you give their schedule to any team outside of the top 4 or 5 it'll look the same. Even the great fort frye cadets would probably have a similar record with the schedule.

Re: Athens DII DISTRICT
Unlike Marietta the FOrt Frye Cadets have beat a D2 team actually 2 of them.
Re: Athens DII DISTRICT
My thoughts:
Logan Sectional
Warren
Athens
Vinton Co
Sheridan
Logan Elm
Fairfield Union
New Lexington
Gallia Academy
Marietta
I think this is what it should look like, i think Gallia and New Lex might change if gallia beats Portsmouth friday. And I would have to say that easterndspy is right Marietta is that bad this year. I think that might change in the next couple of years but this year i would seed them 9th.

I am not doubting you but who were they?EasternDspy wrote:Unlike Marietta the FOrt Frye Cadets have beat a D2 team actually 2 of them.
No excuses for the young tigers but several have been Friday night then back on Saturday. Tough when bench is small.
Re: Athens DII DISTRICT
I just looked up their schedule. Easterndspy is correct, FF has beaten New Lexington, Morgan which are both D2 (I think morgan is D2).

Athens will be playing its 4th-game-in-five days Saturday - and is playing with a very short bench right now as well.fighting_falcon wrote:I am not doubting you but who were they?EasternDspy wrote:Unlike Marietta the FOrt Frye Cadets have beat a D2 team actually 2 of them.
