It's a good thing Trimble took their last timeout home with them

:122245 In the excitement I didn't catch the final. Beau finished with 26pts. Not a very good first half for our guys but they did a better job down the stretch. We can't have any more air-balled free throws if we want to win the final Saturday. Hopefully their nerves will not be a factor.

Re: Peebles vs. Trimble District Semi
why no timeout to set up a play?????????
absolutely no excuse for this from the coaching staff.

Trimble had the ball. Tied up with 20 seconds left. Why they didn't take a timeout with 10 seconds left I have no idea. Nice shot by Justice but he should've never had the ball

I couldn't understand that either. I suppose they did have adequate time to set up exactly what they wanted. Trimble ran about 30 seconds off the clock at the end. Trimble was impressive tonight physically. They beat us up on the glass.Super Trooper wrote:Trimble had the ball. Tied up with 20 seconds left. Number 1 seed, coach of the year in the district, and player of the year in the district. But you're right, it was all luck that we pulled this game out.streetballer wrote:Sounds like peebles got lucky

Re: Peebles vs. Trimble District Semi
those things are sort of expected from the trimble coach. seen it now for 5 years. he not very good in cruch time. good for the first 3 quarters but doesn't make very good coaching decisions down the stretch. watched it all year in a league trimble should have won easily but instead finished in mid pack.
Again feel very bad for the kids.

Re: Peebles vs. Trimble District Semi
For all the talk about peebles big kids being young they sure did a great job on Couch tonight! Held him to 4 points and not very many offensive rebounds. Peebles has played physical teams all year in the shac and with the exception of the fairfield game have been more physical. Ryan and Johnson can bang with the best of them. This team just doesn't quit playing hard! Congratulations Indians!

What a shot by Justice! As others have said, I kept waiting for Trimble to burn a timeout around 10-15 second mark when Peebles extended their pressure out front. As soon as Justice came up with ball after the turnover, whole arena knew it was over. Doesn't matter how you win in the tournament, just survive and advance.*

Young Peebles team can bang with the beat of them. Beau is just unstoppable/unguardable. Bigs take care of the opposing bigs, night after night. This is a great TEAM, who is unselfish and does what it takes to get the job done, however ugly it might have been tonight. That's what makes this group of kids so special and fun to watch. They are tenacious. And Tribe, come on.... Yeah, tonight their free throw % was awful, but typically, they are pretty much money in the bank. I think the wide open floor just threw them off tonight. Counting on them to show up big Saturday!
