VC lost, & I never said the courthouse players were upset, after the game they all ran to centercourt trying to do something. I don’t know what they were attempting to do until some of their coaches tried to pull them off the court while others tried to get them to stay. VC fans were upset that the Courthouse team was trying to do some sort of celebration after the players had already shook hands on their center court

Yeah that’s bad. Should’ve went to OT. Not real sure how they missed that.Local legend wrote: ↑Sat Feb 02, 2019 10:36 pm Here is a link to the shot that wasn’t counted at the end of the VC game.

Re: [=== SCORES ===] -- Saturday Feb-02
Just got home from Vinton County.
After wins this year our kids have gone to center court and got in a circle and put arms around each other and rocked back and forth and then come together in the middle. We did this 9 times at home. Early in the year — 3rd game of the year — we won at Hillsboro and we did that and it was fine. But, it was quickly decided that this should be a home thing. Kinda makes sense — don’t do it on the road ... we haven’t won a game on the road since then. Sounds crazy as this was game 17 but we played 10 of 13 at home and lost the 3 road games.
The jv kids all dress varsity — we are down to 13 or 14 at this point. They assumed we were doing the half court thing. The coaching staff were already over to the corner by the locker room and had to come back and move them to the locker room. It wasn’t the end of the world. 2 of the coaches stayed outside the locker room area as the kids had entered. They were completely off the court and the newspaper guy was stopping them and a few younger kids had run over to congratulate them. This shouldn’t have been a big deal either. Then Coach realized that I was still at the table and was very quietly trying to figure out a way to move. The people at the table were great.... but let’s just say the natives behind me were restless. A few bottles had been thrown over to the corner as the kids were leaving.... nothing terrible but tensions were high. It was a crazy crazy game. The last shot was either on his fingers at the buzzer or just out of his hand. It was close. It certainly wasn’t obviously one way or another. The video shows how close it is. But back to the coach and me at the table ... Coach simply realized I was possibly in a bad spot and was going to walk over and get me. Wrong. He took 2-3 steps towards me and I was able to tell him to get in the locker room. So he and his assistant did. A VC administrator came over and escorted me to the locker room. Nothing happened. Very happy to say that. Then after the kids were changed and ready to leave most of the VC people were still there. We walked out in a line staying as close to our side as possible and out of the gym and out of the school. Cooler heads prevailed. Some friendly mostly older VC people had some really nice things to say as they stood by the doorway on our side of the gym — you know ... wishing us a safe trip home and the like.
Pretty good road win.

It was a crazy night at the Alley also! Athens and Alex was intense to say the least. What a night of HOOPS!! Man it’s hard to win at VC and against Combs,LucasDavenport wrote: ↑Sat Feb 02, 2019 10:59 pm Just got home from Vinton County.

At least 2-4 seconds on that clock. Ridiculous!!!! Principal at WCH should probably forfeit that play.

That’s why the horn doesn’t matter, the 3 zeroes on the clock is all that countsLucasDavenport wrote: ↑Sat Feb 02, 2019 11:42 pmMaybe this will show why it wasn’t a no doubter. The reason that college and Pro put lights on the scoreboard was because the buzzer is notoriously weird and not reliable. Watch the video again and after seeing the pictures tell yourself the buzzer goes off when the ball is still in his hands and you will hear it that way. The mind will hear it based on your perception
Also — the post that said the ball was through the rim or net before the buzzer went off... please.

The still pictures with 0.00 looks like the ball was out of his hand but not a super clear picture when you zoom in. Either way, games over. Time to move on.LucasDavenport wrote: ↑Sat Feb 02, 2019 11:49 pm The reason that college and Pro put lights on the scoreboard was because the buzzer is notoriously weird and not reliable. Athens and VC game came down to no time on clock a few weeks ago and ref called a foul when opposing players went for the ball. Game should of went to OT. We know how you feel VC. Sucks.

Top phot is a dandy, I’ll take back my earlier comment from watching the video, definite lag in horn and clock. That was close. Must have been a great game. Unfortunate for the theatrics it’s sounds like after the game.

It’s crazy how The Facts can get in the way.
