Tigers with a great game tonight...

Waverly Lead 19-12 after 1 and 33-20 at the break. Rough 3rd as it ended with the Tigers up 40-33. I thought it to 5 at one point but have it recorded as 6 at 48-42 with 1:26 to play on bucket by Lintz. Waverly missed a pair of FT's with 1:25 but got the rebound and with 1:14 Bloss hit 1 of 2 to make it a 49-42 game. 10 Seconds later with 1:04 Nibert hit a pair of FT's to extend it to 51-42. Russell hit a pair with :46 to play to make it 53-42. Bolin hit a couple 3's for Northwest but Waverly made their FT's down the stretch with Sawyer Myers and Russell each nailing a pair and Gunnar Myers with a bucket.

Waverly moves to 6-2 and gets some time off before traveling to Piketon next Friday night. I believe it was said the Tigers have not played the Redstreaks in Piketon since the 60's.

I had the Tigers at 13 for 16 from the field in the first half, it was a great start. You can see the growth in the Tigers from game 1 to game 8. Very good win.

Surprised not to hear more input on this one.

Western Pike battled against Wheelersburg, foul trouble and lack of a true third scoring option is what did them in. Is this more telling of how good Western can be in D4 or how Wheelersburg maybe isn’t as strong in D3 as we thought they might be?

Hopefully both teams build off this game and get some momentum going. But I honestly think Western has one of the better back courts in southern Ohio.

… Janes & Haggy are outstanding… one of , if not THE outstanding duos in the SE district no matter the division… scoring , rebounding, total defense … assists/ steals … hard to find a weakness in these 2 juniors …

Biggest thing for western will be can they find that 3rd option!
