Re: Warren Warriors 09-10
Big difference since the first scrimmage and the last (Philo)....of course you would expect that....Maddox appears to be getting the boys in basketball shape, they say practice is a no fun at all, meaning conditioning and more conditioning....defensive intensity is much better, also communication on offense....Venham and Fivecoait looking very strong.....several underclassmen are getting close looks, and will push the starters for playing time if they don't produce....there are some shooters just waiting to get their opportunity.....the competition will make everyone better....Cambridge this Sat is the final scrimmage, and all are anxious to get into the season...will be interesting...Warriors should do very well if their leaders lead....

Re: Warren Warriors 09-10
... had a chance to chat with Coach Maddox at the Athens Shriner Preview - Coach had nothing but positives to say about this years Warrior Blue - sounded really excited about the personnel this year, attitudes, work ethic ... as usual he had areas of needed work BUT every coach I talk with has the same MO - there is always a "but" or "we have lots of room for improvement" ... Coach Maddox was ready to get the "regular season" underway ... best of luck to the Blue from Warren this season ... looking forward to seeing WHS when they visit Jim's Gym on December 29th ...

Re: Warren Warriors 09-10
Warren played 3 quarters against Cambridge and East Muskingum. All of the teams were obviously doing the final tune up for the season. All played man-to-man, zone, and press defenses. All mixed players in and out constantly. Both of Warren's opponents looked like solid teams. In the end Warren outscored both teams by about 15 points.
Warren still plays inconsistently at times, but they have also shown the ability to play at a very high level.
Meigs visits the Warrior Coliseum on Friday. Four more days of practice until the season begins. The Warriors will be ready.

... Warren , SEOAL, at the Warriordome ... take Coach Maddox & TEAM Blue in this one ... WHS is too physical for Meigs to handle on the boards, Warrior pressure will lead to transition baskets in spurts for the Warren ... I will be curious to see if WHS can score from the perimeter in the half court game ... imo it won't matter in this one ... Warren by 10+ in the opener ...

Re: Warren Warriors 09-10
I don't take much of a look at scores of Previews & scrimmages....
Coaches will experiment with lineups, etc to see what is working....
Warren will be good..... Coach Maddox is a proven winner.....
