You wouldn't see coaches doing that today. Any more, I think half of them just want the teaching job and the stipend that goes with coaching (which varies with schools) rather than trying to put a good winning sports program together on the floor or the field. Then they complain when the communities themselves (mostly alumni in most areas) don't come to the games and support the programs. Well, unless they get lucky and win a couple tournament games then you see people you haven't seen in twenty years and they ask where you've been and what you're doing now.
