I would think so. This Trimble team should have won the TVC with ease

This is a great TEAM, who is unselfish and does what it takes to get the job done, however ugly it might have been tonight. That's what makes this group of kids so special and fun to watch. They are tenacious. And Tribe, come on.... Yeah, tonight their free throw % was awful, but typically, they are pretty much money in the bank. I think the wide open floor just threw them off tonight. Counting on them to show up big Saturday!
I never thought it was anything different. It might sound like it but I am not trying to be unnecessarily critical of our shooting. Playing in an arena like the convo plays with your depth perception and typically makes for poor shooting the first time there, it happens to pretty much every team. I do think nerves were a factor too though for the same reason. As you said, there will be an improvement in game two.

Thought that Beau really stepped up in the 2nd half. After a poor shooting performace in the first he and the rest of the Indians really got it together and finished in a dramatic fashion. Anytime the ball is in his hands in the final seconds, you can go ahead and count it

Peebles dropped down to play in Division 4 this year but they have often had trouble playing athletic teams, as one commented, they appear to play scared at times. Similar to the Ironton game years ago and more recently the 21 point loss to Portsmouth. As long as they do not run into a team similar they should continue to advance.

South Gallia isn't as big or physical as Trimble so we should match up a little better in that game. If Peebles wins we will have to play Africentric or Fairfield Christian in the regional semi who, like Trimble, are built to go against the grain of our style of play(Africentric especially). That can only be expected once you hit the regional tournament though so bring on the tall hyper athletic teams of the state. We were outsized and less athletic than Wehrle in 84 and we gave them a respectable game.

Don't want respectable, you want the WIN, best of luck. Note: One way to combat this is to have the kids play with or against those "tall/hyper"(assume you mean extremely quick) kids in the spring and summer and there are no lasalle, middletown, Moeller etc schools in your area, so hate to say it....the infamous AAU lol Hope they Win!

Tough crowd. hahahaahah I wasn't there but I can see where you might not want to call the time out. Have you practiced for this? Is the ball in the hands of the kid you want handling it at the end? You might have a special play in place all ready or you might trust the best player or athlete on your team to make a good choice.

The timeout allows you to set up the play you want but----it also allows the opposing coach to change his D or at the least discuss what he wants done. People forget you also have to get the ball back into play---I've seen instances where they call the time out draw up the play and then fail or struggle to get the ball in.

Myself, if the ball is in the hands of the kid you want and you've practiced for this scenario----I'd let it go and let the basketball Gods decide it.

I see both sides----my opinion is it is up to the individual coach----six of one and a half dozen of the other.

When Jenkins picked the ball up in trouble with 13 seconds left a timeout should have been take. There's no question about it

With the weather and the awesome football run to the state championship, Trimble probably had more games than they did practices.
