As a fan...I can’t sit here and say that I notice any difference between officiating when I watch a junior high game with 2 refs vs 3 doing freshman/JV/Varsity
I understand the game is much bigger, faster, stronger, skilled etc but varsity games haven’t always had 3 refs....when was the switch made to 3? As a fan, I don’t notice the difference. I’m sure there are many.

I’m not trying to make it worse because I know the guys that are out there truly are doing the best they can but the reason for the 3 has to be the lack of quality. Last year I seen guys that looked like Santa Claus trying to officiate a varsity game. When u have 65 year olds and guys tipping the scales at 300lbs trying to officiate there is a need for a 3rd in my humble opinion.Ironman92 wrote: Sat Dec 07, 2019 3:32 pm As a fan...I can’t sit here and say that I notice any difference between officiating when I watch a junior high game with 2 refs vs 3 doing freshman/JV/Varsity

Most spend good time there, shouldn’t change how it’s called. You must be a ref or sucking up to them to get calls for AthensRaider6309 wrote: Sat Dec 07, 2019 10:03 pm Basketball is a very physical sport. Get in the weight room

I know it’s physical but it can’t be so physical that skill isn’t rewarded.
