I’m not any basketball guru, but I like that 1-3-1 press burg plays. They are athletic to cover skip passes. Maybe get Waverly to turn it over. If I would say waverly had a weakness, it could be team ball handling. Robertson is going to get shots up, it’s what he does. If burg guards were smart, they’d let him drive far in the paint, if he gets passed you so be it because he doesn’t want to be in there he wants to hit that stop and pop.
I've seen Waverly a couple times this year and this simply isn't the case this year. Last year from what I seen I would agree that he wanted nothing to do with driving to the bucket. This year though I've seen a different player where guys are coming out hard to guard the 3 he's getting to the bucket more, like I said only seen a couple games but hard to imagine he's more worried about going to the rim against 1 team as he is another. Best move that I've seen is to not let him in the paint because he's found the big guys up close for easy buckets. Guard him smart at the 3 point line and don't let him penetrate to get others going because what I've seen from Waverly the others struggle to create for themselves.

I suggested that because he’s going to have to shoot a more contested shot. Burg will have to rotate their defense in order to keep from the dish. I’d also isolate him defensively maybe try to get him in foul trouble.

Will be interesting to see if this game is rescheduled. Burg has already cancelled the girls game, freshman game and JH games for tonight with school closed for the rest of the week.

I would say it will most likely be played. I only say that because the girls game was scheduled at Webster, who closed school for the rest of the week as well. With it being at Waverly and they haven't closed again, at least yet, I would say it will be played. But we shall see.

Also there is a chance of a frozen mix coming into the area late tonight into tomorrow which could impact this one. If it is nasty in the morning I wouldn't be surprised if Waverly is quick to close school, only because attendance has not improved much since last week when they chose to close due to illness.

I believe every school in Pike County including the CTC is now closed for the rest of the week. Waverly being the exception.

And as mentioned by MasterofNone the weather looks to get rather nasty late tonight. At this point I'll be surprised if this game is played tomorrow.

Waverly’s numbers haven’t improved much and possibly close tomorrow and Monday.

Wheelersburg was suppose to meet at 1:00 today to discuss extra curricular activities.

So Waverly was canceled last Thursday and a Friday and now again this Friday and Monday?

I wonder how much all of our schools closing is even helping? I think Manchester is on their 2nd go around as well. I bet more schools have a second as well. My school only 6% absent 😒

Closing the first time is because of high absences and having an opportunity to sanitize the schools and help decrease the chances of spreading. Closing a second time around is because of the continued high absences of students and staff. There’s no point in having school with so many kids missing and the staff calling off because they have sick kids or are sick themselves. Not even enough subs to cover. Tough situations for the districts.

So basically it wasn’t effective the first time enough to prevent more days missed. I know a school that their attendance was near 90% but a big % of bus drivers were out with flu and were basically 1 more missed driver from canceling. Had to have bus garage workers drive routes. No one seems to have any subs. It’s nearly impossible for my school to find more than 2 subs on any given day. There simply aren’t any.
