I don’t think they were consistent in there calls/ non-calls either way, but wouldn’t have been the reason for either team to lose. Marietta lost due to foul shots not falling, if Meigs would have lost it would have been due to inability to make the open shots they got.
I have seen this particular crew three times this year, let’s just say they would not rank in the top half of crews in SEO officiating.
I’ve seen worse, but the calls were decisively to Meigs favor. One obvious one late on a 3-point shot for Marietta I would have called offensive foul, but other than that no errors that helped Marietta. Tigers affected by clean blocked shots called fouls, sliding traveling that is not a travel under the rule, push down in the open court not called, a “4-step spin move travel” for Meigs not called and then a close call travel on the other end whistled against Marietta that took away a basket, etc. All of this and more before ignoring the rules in the final seconds. An even bigger factor than free throws (3 for 8) was Marietta’s 3-point shooting. They are a much-higher 3-point shooting team and shot poorly this game — candidly in part because Meigs defense was better than they often face. Wasn’t going to comment again but watching this game in slow motion quite revealing.

There are 2 refs that are worse than these 2 but yes no matter what, referees need to set a level of calls and be consistent with them throughout the game

I've done that with about a half-dozen games this year with other top teams -- Minford, South Webster, Warren, Steubenville come to mind. Just wanted to make sure what I thought I saw was accurate. Time to move on. Consensus is this crew wasn't very good. Botched the end of the game ignoring the rule, etc. Despite the odds, Tigers still had a chance to overcome all of that and just didn't. Meigs will win 20 or more games with the mildest schedule of the top teams in SE Ohio in any division but regardless they are really good.

I agree. It’s a really hard job. But once you make a mistake don’t make another one by ignoring the rules. That’s unacceptable.
