Ironton would definately be one of the top teams in the ovc if they were in it. I have watched all of the teams in the ovc and they would be capable of beating all of them, which they showed that already. I am a Fairland fan and I see Ironton as well coached and very talented. I think our inside game was too much for them. Our gaurds penetrated well and then dished off extremely good in the paint. Ward off the bench was the one who put us over the top with them big three's. Our guards played very well, although turnover prone sometimes. I was a little worried how we would handle there press, but we did a good job. Ironton's gaurds are very good and fast. Carter is awesome!! Great game. Go Dragons!!

Hat's off to Fairland, you played a great game and your coach done a fantastic job.

I thought Ironton's defense broke down for the biggest part of the game.Fairland got too many easy buckets underneath.Ironton did not get any rhythim going except for the 1st qtr.
I thought coach Lafon did a excellent job this season :-D
It has been a joy to watch the Tigers all season, good luck to all the seniors.

Can't wait til next season,It's always Basketball 30 for me ;-)

Not all Ironton fans were chanting OVC, and I don't recall anyone chanting "we're not Fairland". I believe it was explained above, once again, the reason for the chant. No, it didn't bite the rude, yes-rude, ADULT fans on the bum. They probably didn't even attend a regular season game this year anyway. The ones it affected were the KIDS on the court. Both teams played hard, one played better and that's who won. So, congratulations once again to the Dragons. I hope you continue winning. Good Luck!

Way to go dragons. Looks like the 3rd time was the charm. Chris "Cash Money" Ward was a huge lift for us off the bench. Guards this was one of your best games ever. Gotigers why do you think its so funny that the big "I" would have finished 4th in the OVC. IMO that is were the tigers would've finished. Also IMO alot of tiger fans look down at OVC schools always have always will.

I want to thank all the people that came last night and cheered the dragons on to victory. But overall I was disappointed with the lack of people there last night. I counted the students in the student section at the beginning of the game 26. That is pathetic they were offered free tickets and a bus but didn't have enough kids sign up. :122247 I hope for a better turnout Wed. People don't be afraid to be loud and cheer for your team. If you need pointers trust me i know how to yell. :122245

I also talked to trojandave and what a fine gentlemen with very good insights on the game of basketball. GO GREEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fairland was the better team Saturday.Ironton seemed outta sorts at times. We had too many times back at our end with no shots taken or missed shots.
Congrats to Fairland! Good luck the rest of the way!

To the Senior Tigers...you have been fun to watch,on to track and baseball.......

I'm also gonna say this,I think the Convo needs ushers to keep other teams out of our seats.I think it is just rude period.

I personally thought the crowd support was good considering there was a high school play last night at FHS (Footloose-which was excellent!!) Great job Dragons! It was a well played game! At the beginning of the year I stated I'd much rather go to The Convo than have an OVC title and I still agree with that! Sweet 16 BABY!!!

I AGREE, some people show up for the first game "EARLY" and take up some prime seats,,and never leave that seat all day

That has been an issue for years at the Convo.

I myself don't believe in sitting in the lower section until the team I am watching plays or that section is designated for my team I'm watcching(is that confusing to anyone.LOL)

I know what group of people you are talking about Itown and it is sad that they wouldn't get up. What I have done in the past, if I want to sit down low, is go and ask the people from the game before if they are leaving after there game is over and if they are I ask them if they can stay in those seats until I get down there. Seems to always work and that way I'm not taking up seats for the game before.

Yabba....actually I like to sit in the upper seats at the convo, but there were some of the elderly Tiger fans that had to sit up there due to others sitting there.

its not only one school that does it..we ALL have people that do it...doesnt matter to me one way or the other,,I am a nose bleed seat person myself,,,but evey game we was at this year, we seen folks stay in their seats from EVERY TEAM that played.

one guy told me, he was a fan of EVERY team that played on his side

I agree Yabba and I've had that work a couple of times. However there is one group of my compatriots (  ) that confuse the "Refuse to Lose" slogan with "Refuse to Move". They are AVID fans and they must get there about 3 in the morning to be first in line to get in because they are ALWAYS in the 1st row of seats.
NOW, HERE'S THE KICKER.... there is usually only 4-6 of them... but they will have coats strewn over about 10 other seats, holding them for friends and/or relatives and I have seen on at least two occasions where those "coated" seats will be empty (except for the coats) through the entire 1st game.... and on one occasion, half way through the 1st qtr of the second game (their friends were late getting there).
You talk about a lack of consideration or respect. I have known these people for MANY years but that just burns me up.
