soccerfix,
I would guess some of the kids from last years team who are not playing would be playing.
Remember, Burg was a pretty good ball team last year and lost NO ONE to graduation.
Bendolph is a very good player but I think many would agree his "transfer" has caused problems within the Wheelersburg program.

Actually, you couldn't be more wrong. These kids all got along great on the football team and there is no animosity towards Bendolph in any way. Two of the kids not playing were injured at the end of football season and one had surgery and is out for the season and the other decided not to play because of his injury and so he could heal for track season. The other two aren't playing for other reasons I won't go into on here, but trust me it has nothing to do with Bendolph being on the team.

I won't believe that for a second. All of the players on thne team get along well with Andrew, evident as they got him to play football with them this year. He only makes this year team better and I'm really impressed with his play.

I did hear talk that one player didn't play because Andrew came to Burg and if he did, that you don't need a player like that on your team. If he can't play within the team setting and compete for playing time, then hit the road.

I agree also that McBee and Massie should be on the varsity, but need to get there playing time at the JV. They would be hard pressed to beat out Bendolph and Lang and Miller at the guard spot, but would be very nice replacements for any three of them.

good game by waverly; wheelersburg needs to start shooting well from the outside to loosen up the inside on stegman or stegman needs to move outside some, you can tell waverly scouted the portsmouth game because it really looked like the same gameplan the trojans had and i am sure the rest of the league will have

Yeah, I did make that statement, but since then have found out that the player didn't play because of another issue, nothing to do with Bendolph coming to the Burg. IMO, Whitley would have probably been a starter along with Bendolph in the Burg's backcourt. Those players chose not to play for there own reasons. I don't really balme them for not playing, but that's neither here nor there.

The addition of the exchange student, Sam Johnston, running the point at Waverly, makes them a much better team. This young man can play some hoops. He can score, penetrate, dish the ball and play defense.

Congrats to the Tigers on the win Friday night.

Burg had way to many turnovers in this game which seems to be a problem in their first 5 games. The radio said they only had 11 turnovers, but I think they may have missed a few because they had 5 at the half and I know they had more then 6 in the 2nd half. They had at least that many in the 3rd quarter alone.

Rebounding was huge as well. The Tigers got way to many second looks by getting the offensive board and outrebounded the Burg by 13.

Congrats to Waverly on the win.

Sammy was unstoppable?
