Aters game plan was to Shutdown everyone but Stegman and as you can see it worked out pretty good with only 2 other players scoring.

Yeah, I noticed them double and triple teaming everybody else. What a game plan. Way to go Ater.

Would not count the Burg out just yet, with a great coach, the best big man and arguebly the best point guard in the area,I think they will get their act together, and be a very difficult team to beat.

TheMalteseFalcon, I'm sure Stegman was double and triple teamed under the basketball all night, but Swanker Pine is right about Ater's gameplan. While almost everyone in the league will try to take advantage of the Pirates' lack of shooting by zoning them (essentially shuttig down Stegman and letting everyone else shoot 3's), Ater decided to line up man to man and trust that Stegman couldn't beat Webster on his own. I have to respect Ater's mentality... He wasn't going to change what Webster does because they were playing Wheelersburg. I wanted us to play zone- guess that shows what I know

Ater is no dummy I have learned thus far int the season. Coach Reese didn't take advantage of what he had for two years which was the speed and athleticism of Webster and using that in the press and beating the other team up the floor for an easy layup. IMO Ater coaches very similar to Kreischer did in those 4 seasons at SW.

thompsont2 wrote:they only problems that webster has is that scott and the loop boys need to work as a team they r a dominate force together but when they try to do it by their self it falls apart, also stupid fouls, some in this game were just uncalled for no reason to even foul, if a guy is under the basket dont foul him if you have 4 fouls common sense..... But i do have to say webster has some of the best guard play in the league and wes loop can shoot the lights out of the three ( even if your in his face)
That 4th foul you were talking about was smart. It was a wide open layup or a foul to make him earn it at the line. With a game that close you want to make sure there are no easy baskets. And the I would say Austin Loop is the better shooter, while Wes is more of a slasher. Don't get me wrong he has his night. (Not a diss! Think of it as LeBron :D )
Great season so far Jeeps, lets keep it up!

If McBee and Massie are being moved up to the varsity you can't have them sitting on the bench. If you bring them up, you have to play them, otherwise jst leave them down on JV to get some playing time in.
IMO, both should have been on the varsity from the get go.
Art, you are right in that they are really missing both Kemper and Whitley. Kemper for his defense and rebounding and Whitley for his ball handling and shooting. Zaide was coming into his game the last few games of last year and would have fit in nice with this years team
