I'm not positive. Fairland went to the state game but never won back in the 60's? I may be wrong. Pretty sure they got beat in the finals. Dont even know that conferences existed back then. Wouldnt it be great though?

Robbie Iassacs won the State Championship in the 200m and Long Jump in 1999. I am pretty sure Brent Ransbottom won the State Title in the high jump in 2005.

Must not seen the crossover then bust the 3.

He still looks like a spot up shooter. While our 6'5" guy can handle the ball, create his own shot, and can the three.

LCC's 6'5 player isn't the one that will hurt you (unless you leave him open). That being said, their guards can really hurt you off the dribble and on the defensive end. This time of year, everyone is good and this should make for a great game. It seems to me Chesapeake has the size advantage and LCC might have a little more speed and quickness. Lets get it on....

pretty sure lcc has been there since the 80's... thinking i've seen them a couple times 90's maybe after 2000.... the years begin to run together.

Per the record books...

LCC has been to state in 1989, 1992, 1993, 1994, 2000, and in 2010.

They lost in the finals twice, once including 1994 when they were Ranked #1 in the state for the entire season and boasted that year's Mr. Basketball, Aaron Hutchins. LCC's 5 state losses have been by a combined total of 8 points.

I think Chesapeake did well by playing a tough out of conference schedule. They played teams with great athleticism in Ironton, Portsmouth, and Campbell Memorial. They also played schools four times larger than them in Spring Valley and Cabell Midland. South Point and Fairland in conference also always put good teams on the court.

So I think it will be a good game. It is always hard for a public school to go against private one, but I believe the Peake matches up pretty well.

Good luck Peake from the Westfall Mustangs! Really enjoyed the Westfall/Peake game last year in the Convo. Have seen them 3 times this year. I truly believe they have the right combo of players to beat anyone. Will be there watching Thursday morning! Good luck!

Did anyone from the Peake buy Norm a court seat for this one or will he have to get one from the scalpers ? (I know they alternate the best tickets every year between regions for coaches, administrator's, etc. so I don't know who got the best seats this year).

I'm sure Coach Persin is very happy for the school and the community. You never know he may be sitting with Principal Rase with his purple towel on his shoulder..lol

Nah, he'll probably have on his purple shirt and black pants but no towel. That was saved for when he would call a time out, look up at the clock, pull his pants up from the beltline, straighten the crotch then grab the towel from the old shoulder on the sidelines to have a pep talk.

Regardless of what happens in the morning. It has been a very exciting basketball season. Even if they lose tomorrow the Panthers have nothing to hang their heads for. Only one team in Division III ends their year with a win.
