River played well, final should have been more lopsided. Kinda the Tressel thing - just win.

nice going River. Heard @ work the younger classes are loaded. may be too late to detrone FF as PVC champs, but hey, make the OVAC playoffs and make some noise.

Um, I think the answer is NEVER. The OVAC playoffs have only been around I believe 3 years. The league is already too big, my gosh 50 schools? You really feel the closeness of a league when you've got a Beaver Local, University High WV, Fort Frye, and Zanesville Rosecrans, lol.

Honestly, do anybody really care where the finish in the OVAC, in any sport? I could count on one finger how many times i've heard people discuss anything with the OVAC.

Well actually the OVAC tourney is really fun to play in.Caldwell does not play in at as they schedule 20 games. The last 2 games are more exciting when you get to play different teams.FF has made the tourney 2 out of the 3 years.Lost in the finals 2 years ago.Even last year when they did not make they got to play Bellaire in a non qualifly game and that was a fun trip. Were suppose to play Union Local but that game was snowed out.I really think it makes the end of year more exciting.

Have to agree with the ol' E-Dist. spy on this one. It's fun to see River play a Toronto or someone NOT on the regular season schedule IF they don't qualify in the top 4 for the OVAC tournament. It's first-round games are at the higher seed, while the finals are all at the fabulous OU Eastern gym. Great place for basketball and so glad teams don't play in Steubenville's St. John Arena or Steubenvlle H.S. anymore.
As to I Drain 3's, maybe it's because SEOPS doesn't do an OVAC weekly thread since it's in the EASTERN DISTRICT, not the Southeastern.
I just wonder how it'd work to turn the Southeastern District into an OVAC-type super conference with 50 schools divided into divisions?

I agree. The OVAC doesn't come into play until late in the season, but it's a fun concept and a pretty big deal to win.

Now being from the OVAC side of the tracks.......I think this idea would generate a lot of interest in Southern-Southeast Ohio.surfsider wrote:Have to agree with the ol' E-Dist. spy on this one.
