Whoever it is I'm sure there will always be part of the comments that think their team got screwed and the other side will think they knew all along what the outcome was gonna be. I just hope we get to witness some awesome high school tourney basketball!!

hitchbone: SEOAL can't hold a candle to the ever-tough OVC.*
Re: who has the best chance to reach the state around the ar
honestly, I think Gallia deserves a little credit for playing better basketball then they get, even though it does not show in their win loss colum,,like you said they played us to only a 5 point loss, and also played well and only lost to Warren by 3,,but they have been in some other close games this year also..incuding giving Ironton a good game at Ironton.
right now,I am looking at one gaame at a time, so we will wory about who the Trojans play after tuesday.
GOOD LUCK TO ALL LOCAL TEAMS..I love to watch all the locals at he convo every year

Re: who has the best chance to reach the state around the ar
first i want to say i haven't seen all teams play but my opinion on those with the best chance of making it to state tournament this year are
DIV
south webster
manchester
DIII
chesapeake
portsmouth
*piketon and peebles a bit below these two
DII
chillicothe
warren
JMO from seeing a few games, reading and talking to others about many teams in the district.
also seoal is IMO the strongest conference in SEOHIO from top to bottom. maybe a year hear or there another conference might be stronger but not year to year. SOC big school probably next. thats not saying a VC or chesapeake couldnt compete and win an seoal title.

Re: who has the best chance to reach the state around the ar
I know that Peake has held on to the no.1 spot all season, and rightfully so,because they have played great basketball and have beaten up on teams that they were supposed to,even though their schedule is not very strong they are still a very good team. But if anyone who has watched the Portsmouth Trojans play the past month or so, and the schedule they went through, the speed, defense, shooting, rebounding, toughness, this is a complete team of some very good players with an ex-colledge coach who knows the right buttons to push at the right time.Pfloyd has watched more games and teams than I have this year, but if there is a better team than Portsmouth right now admission should be 20 bucks.I for one would pay it,now the question is would you Pfloyd.Who in your heart is no.1.
Re: who has the best chance to reach the state around the ar
Their schedule is not very good? Really?
1. Beat #1 Athens seed Fairland (13-7) by an average of 40 points twice.
2. Beat Ironton (13-7) twice, once by double digits.
3. Beat SOC II Champ Wheelersburg (15-5) by 20+ on their floor.
4. Beat Columbus Africentric (8-5 is the only results I can find for them) by 9 on neutral court.
5. Beat two AAA schools Parkersburg South and Spring Valley by and average of 30+.
6. Lost by 1 to Logan WV defending state champions
I wouldn't say the schedule is bad imo. Chesapeake can't help their league is down.

I don't agree with Peake often but in this case I do.peake wrote:Their schedule is not very good? Really?

Re: who has the best chance to reach the state around the ar
I think Chillicothe is well respected everywhere in ohio but for some reason in the southeast area some do not like the kids from chilly.. i wonder why this really is? I think i know the true answer but i am not going to go there. The chillicothe school has shown they can get the job done and win a state title. I think they know what it takes to get it done. I've seen jabs taken at some of these schools and coaches on here. Lets root for all the teams in southern ohio and quit taking jabs at one another... But then again, that can't be done in southern ohio............ :122249peake wrote:I could be wrong though, Ohiohoops.com really seems to like CHili.

I am a little taken back by your response. I have nothing against Chili, I think above all things I have shown them respect. I have not seen anyone say anything but good things about Chili on here.
I hope you are not implying something racial. I hope they win it all, I have no real dog in the fight in d2.

MVL is just as good, if not a little better.hitchbone64 wrote:

Hmmm, help us compare the conferences, cause I am not that familiar with the MVL.....
I'm guessing Sheridan and John Glenn are the cream of the crop, I dunno.....and which team is better of the two....and who are the other two that you would add to make it a foursome to compare with Chillicothe/ Portsmouth/ Warren and Marrietta.....also, how would they fare against them??? I just don't know? Pardon my unfamiliarity! But I've looked at a few of the polls and even Pfloyd's elite 8 and just may have overlooked 4 schools from the MVL near the top of the polls comparable to the 4 in the SEOAL. However, if so, it's safe to say I've been sleep on em. Heck, even if not, I've been sleep on em.....I'm really only relatively familiar without about 15 teams from around southeastern ohio. Maybe more, lol

Re: who has the best chance to reach the state around the ar
Sheridan, John Glenn are as good as anyone mentioned on here. Maysville isn't far behind (lost to top ranked Rosecrans in ot). Tri-Valley is solid (lost by 2 after blowing twelve point lead against Zanesville last week). West M is 10-10, fifth place and I wouldn't be suprised to see them come out of their eastern district sectional. New Lex is the 6th best team in the league and aren't that bad.
Re: who has the best chance to reach the state around the ar
I am seeing alot of talk about Portsmouth and Chesapeake in D3.I think Peebles and Piketon could make some noise come tourney time! They are capable of beating either team.
Re: who has the best chance to reach the state around the ar
jayhawks
you are right, both are very good!
any team can be beat,,and this is not the time of year to take anyone lightly, no matter how many games they have won or lost

Re: who has the best chance to reach the state around the ar
This thread is about as useless as they get,we will findout soon who makes it. Why would anyone argue about who is the best when we will find out in a few weeks. Usually it is never the favorites, sometimes it is.
This has turned into chest pounding and bragging,c'mon man let's just play it out. After all if you brag too much and get beat you gotta eat a lot of CROW!

Re: who has the best chance to reach the state around the ar
yeah,,and trust me ..crow taste really bad.

Re: who has the best chance to reach the state around the ar
I would say that crow does taste bad. When you have 4 D3 teams from the southeast area ranked in the top 10 how do you not brag a little.Personally,i think alot of teams from our area could make a deep run. This is the best time of the year because it is almost "Basketball Thirty".Goodluck to all local teams!

A Peake, get over yourself. you want to talk about a conference that is really bad....... look at the ovc. You all won that conference... thats something to be proud of!!
:aaaaa26
Again, to here you talk there is no one close to the peake!!! haha goodluck to ya in the tourny cause anything less than a state title will be demorilizing for you after all the trash you've thrown this year.
