Will there be a 3 point shooting contest and dunking contest on Sunday prior to the Monday night game? I'm thinking these are 2 teams that would be able to field multiple participants in both contests ! THAT doesn't happen often Below the Lancaster-Dixon Line !!! LOL

Warren BEATS Portsmouth on the road ...

And the plot thickens for the DII sectional at Logan ...

And this match-up between Athens and Warren gets even bigger ...

LOVE IT! lol

Last night beating Portsmouth was huge but the best news of the night was the way Reece Patton played. He was a man!!! First trip down the floor after Warren controlled the tip, Patton busted a 3 from the corner and it was on. Patton is huge for Warren when you talk matchups. French/Burrows & Hall/Watson to me is a push. The intriguing matchup Patton/Luerman is one the Warriors clearly have the advantage. Patton can score ANYWHERE on the court. Luerman will have to cover the entire court. Covering cuts to the basket, shutting down the post and running out to cover shots from the 3 point line will test Athens ability to rotate and play team D. Warren is sharing the basketball well as of late. Last night at Portsmouth the Warriors scoring at halftime was Patton 8, Drayer 7, Hall 6 and French 5. That's very tuff for any team to stop. The Warriors had a 10 point lead that they threatened to stretch to double digits on several occasions.
If Patton continues to produce the way he has been of late, that'll be hard for the Bulldogs to match. The 3 senior starters French, Patton and Drayer are starting that "senior push". That point in the year where they know their careers are winding down and they bring their focus level to a all time high. No way to measure that but you can see it in their eyes. That's bad news for you 93Dog!

GO BIG BAD BLUE!

Let's add some sauce to the stew we're stirring here ... I say that Warren has the upper hand as far as Strength of Schedule over the Athens TEAM 93dog ... Warren : Portsmouth 2x, 13-2 Fort Frye 2x, Fairfield Christian 2x, Bishop Watterson at Watterson, Wheeling Park,Lucasville Valley, Columbus Hartley , AND Athens ... while the Bulldogs have as who I feel are of the caliber of teams that UP the schedule/push your development as TEAM - Logan Elm, the 3 Teams on the Disney trip, Circleville, SVSM , Lucasville Valley, Warren ... not going to give you the "bottled water guys" at Propel HIgh School out of Pa. they stand at 3-9 on the season so far ...

... Warren gets 11 quality opponents vs Athens' 8 ... that should get things rolling for discussion topic #1 for this snowy weekend ...

Why did you add ATHENS to Warren's schedule to give them = 11?
But didn't add Warren to Athens total?

lol

It's that SEOAL DNA you have in you Floyd ... you just do those things subconsciously ...

WarriorBlue ... 2 leading scorers for Athens last night? Ryan Luehrman and Adam Luehrman ... leading scorer in the 'Dogs last game before that? Ryan Luehrman, who had 14 in the first half alone ... How many did R. Luehrman have against Valley? 15.

It goes both ways my friend ... Patton may be a match-up problem on the outside - but what is he going to do guarding a 6'5 post player in the paint?

He will do just fine. Patton is prolly the strongest player on the Warren roster.

Is he going to guard both 6'5 Ryan Luehrman ... and 6'5 Adam Luehrman?

There will be a mismatch somewhere if Maddox goes man-to-man, WarriorBlue.

No starter made a single 3-pointer last night ... no starter made a single three versus Wellston ... 'Dogs are starting to pound it inside and are taking advantage of their size ... long story short: Warriors better bring their hard hat and lunch pale next Monday! lol

I know its not going to happen but I would really like to see Valley play warren again I was happy with the performance out of Valley when they played Athens But when they played Warren that was a different story as bad as Valleys shooting was that night and still stayed that close to Warren gives me a better feeling that if Athens shows up they will win this game by how many doesnt really matter I just think Athens is a better team.....

... 93dog must have been a freudian slip on the Warren omission on the Athens strength of schedule lineup ... it still remains that Warren in my book will have played the stronger overall schedule ( the beatings have begun!!! I love this game !!! -no! literally THIS GAME !!! - Warren vs Athens ... doesn't get any better than this one this season ... unless we have the same matchup in the sectional or district !!! I still LOVE THIS MATCHUP! )

Might I add, Floyd, you gave Warren x2 on Fort Frye ... the same Fort Frye team that beat Waterford 53-46? Waterford (8-5), who has lost 2 straight, including an 18-point beat down by Trimble?

It WAS Warren 11, Athens 8 (with Warren).
Take away Fort Frye ... Warren 9, Athens 8
Add Vinton County to Athens list ... Warren 9, Athens 9

WHOLA ... THAT'S HOW IT'S DONE ... lol

Warren : Portsmouth 2x, Fort Frye 2x, Fairfield Christian 2x ...

Any more 'small schools' the Warriors want to beat up on - or is that it?

lol

... let's look at the Power teams we are counting that Athens played at Disney hmmmmmmmmmmm ...

Bishop Eustace NJ HS (6-6)
Shawnee NJ HS ( 3-11)
North Miami HS (10-11)

... not seeing the ummpph in the POWER of these 3 teams 93dog ... then trying to play the "water boys from Propel Pa." too !!!!????? I can give you Vinton County x2 if we take away any teams at Disney without winning records -3 for a net -1 ... Warren 11 Athens 7 ... not looking good for you 93dog ... does Akron have a winning record ???? the committee will look into that and get back to you on that

... is this a great game coming up or what !!! LOL

... small schools ... it's still 5 on 5 on the court 93dog ... one of those cases where size doesn't matter again !!! heck Fort Frye would be at the #5 spot on Elite 8 IF they slid in under the "plays at the Convo Rule" LOL ...

ASVSM is a perfect example of how 'records' can be very deceiving ... I was told, by those who were there, that all three teams in Florida past 'the eye' test.

... heck for all I know the "eye test" people you talked to look for the same things in a team that Mrs. Pfloyd does - do their shoes match, the color of the uniforms etc. ... at some point teams have to win games 93dog !!!

North Miami is a D1 school in Florida with over 2,000 students, their schedule includes other HUGE schools and some top notch programs in the Miami and South Florida area ... If they played, lets say Wheelersburg's schedule, they would be undefeated and sitting atop Pfloyd's ranking at #1 ... like I said, looks can be deceiving ...

That's what we get when we start adding 'foreign teams' to the equation ... the poor Ouija board is probably going nuts trying to figure out a formula ... lol

BTW ... North Miami is (14-8)
