The Burg will empty the bench early in this one and cruise to a 20+ point win. South Webster has no one to match up with the Stegmans inside or Jenkins, Lang, and Spradlin outside. It could get out of hand very quickly.

I hope the Pirates leave SW with a victory (always a tough place to play), but Wheelersburg should stay focused on Valley, which they travel to on Tuesday night.

My thoughts exactly socfan. Burg cannot worry about Webster until they play Valley on Tuesday. The Pirates will make the pligrimage out to Lucasville and hopefully pick up on Sat. nights big, emotional win. Burg cannot afford a let down come Tuesday.

Valley is a much improved team. They seem to believe in their new system and their new coach.

Even though it's a down year for South Webster, this game should draw a pretty good size crowd. I believe that the cross-town rivalry will be close early on, but Wheelersburg will just be too much for the Jeeps in the end. I hope this game is a lot closer than expected, as the Jeeps have played much better at home this year than away. I'll say BURG 71 SW 59.
Good luck to both teams.
GO JEEPS!

Burg needs to stay focused and not think ahead to the next week's games against Minford and Oak Hill.
Should not have any problems with this game, but you never know. That's why they play the game on the court and not on a website.

Burg's defense intensity seems to be a big key this year. Not that they don't play good D every year but, in every game I have watched since the Chilli game, they are a step quicker than their opponent with sound defensive fundamentals. All 7-8 in the rotation do an excellent job in help and recover shutting down the penetration and stopping the post lob. They also are able to minimize the open perimeter looks and push the perimeter beyond the arc as well. Not many good looks for the opponents against Burgs D.
Their weakness may just be their agressivness on D. If they face a team that can spot a shooter on the weak side wing or corner and they knock down the shots, they may not be able to recover quick enough. Just my opinion.
All in all they are much improved since week #1.
This game should not be close at Webster on Friday. Burg by 15+

Burg cannot go into this game overlooking the Jeeps because as Jeep 80 said, "SW gets the upset." The young men wearing Pirate orange and black must control the inside and tempo of the game.

I really cannot see Coach Barrick letting that happen. He and his staff do not take any opponent litely.

It is High School basketball you know. Stranger things have happened.
I think the Burg will be ready though.
I'd like the guys to put together one perfect game before the season is over and what a better night than Firiday.
Of course they could wait until Saturday night so I could watch it!

Only a few hours before tip-off. I look for a pretty nice sized crowd tonight, so I'm goin early to get a good seat. Let's put together a whole solid game tonight, Jeeps, and hang tough and want the win. Good Luck to both teams.
GO JEEPS!

Wheerlersburg 62
South Webster 30
I said that in my earlier post and that's exactly what happened. SW had no one to stop the inside game of the Burg and if the Pirates hadn't missed so many easy shots under the basket this could have been a 45 point win. Webster is young and will be alright in the future, but they will take some lumps this season. I hope the Queen boy is alright and able to get back on the court soon.
