Wheelersburg just won the reserve game, 29-27. Valley was down 27-24 and hit a three to tie it with about 15 seconds left in the game. Burg inbounded the ball and went down the court and a Burg player was fouled. he went to the line for the one and one and hit both to put Burg up 29-27. Valley shot a three at the buzzer that was just off the back iron.

Final score

Wheelersburg 56 Valley 30

With that offense Valley runs, if they aren't hitting the three ball, they are in for a long night. I remember one stretch they shot 9 three's in a row and hit none. Kind of hard to win when you can't hit. Looked to me also that that run and gun style of offense kind of wore them down in the second half. they didn't have the legs in the second half and if your legs are tired and you can't jump to shoot, makes it hard to hit anything.

Congrats to the Pirates on a nice win tonight. Valley just couldn't hit anything tonight, but every team will have those kinds of night. Exciting J.V. game though! Now it's time for Burg to look forward to the cross-town rival game Friday @ South Webster. Good luck to the Pirates down the stretch of their season.

Pirate Defense was way too fast and too strong for the Indians.
Good effort from the Indians. They played hard and didn't quit.
