NY travels to Meigs for a league game against the Marauders. The Buckeyes are coming off an overtime loss at Trimble. This will be the 11th game for NY this season, and 8 of those games have been road games. Hopefully NY will turn things around at the end of the season when the Buckeyes have several home games.

If the Meigs Marauders execute the Benny Ewing press..... this game will be a blow out.
Since it is at Meigs, I'll take Meigs. Hopefully they show some class this time.

I bet NY has a press offense. Most good coaches do.

So good coaching would be to put the starters back in to break the press with a VARSITY pressbreaker!? Ohh I get it now!
I've also heard that "good" coaches don't run off their best players.
Meigs' gym is full of coaches, none of which sit on the bench!

Yeah well you have them coaches and refs in the stands at every TVC school.

I agree, but only at Meigs have I heard 14-18 year old boys being verbally assaulted by fans.

It must be that stuff that some of them smoke.

my my my someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed. i thought we put the meigs is terrible for winning away. the peole at other schools here at first when meigs was losing where all " the meigs fans are a bunch of jerks" now that they are winning it is all " the meigs coaches are a bunch of jerks". not one meigs fan has ripped vinton so just stop. these are the same kids that have always been there. they all play if you where at the game you know that and if you where not ( bassmaster) then keep quiet.
the word is nelsonville is having a bad year, guys so was meigs 6 games ago. maybe, after friday, you can get yours. i hope so. but i am taking meigs in a big way.

Oh so if I wasn't at the game I have to keep quiet
Where do you get off telling people on here to be quiet
That's pretty funny
You should come down from the top row because I think the air is a little thin up there.

the air is thin keeps me from yelling too much. where where you? glad to know you have at least knowledge of the game. now we really can talk. if you are a fan then you know who i am. i have not went to great lenths to hide myself. it irritates me that people who do not go to the games just read here and form an opinion. i hope you are happy i will wonder who you are now instead of watching the game.
by the way that comment was not aimed at you. anyone who has even followed meigs knows all the kids played against vinton. it is aimed at the vinton fans who keep retelling the same crap 3 threads running.

Ok I have reading this CRAP for a week and trying to keep my mouth shut. But I'm not going to sit back anymore. I want to remind Vinton County that they did win the game against Meigs, it seems some of their fans forgot that. As a fan who was at the game, and didn't care who won let me make a few points.
1. True the kid was poked in the eye, but it was AFTER he was called for traveling. And NOT before, he clearly drug his pivot foot.
2. Matt Combs told the offical and I qoute "I dont's care what the score is, call the foul. And give me a d#$& "T" if you want. When I called games and a coach ask for a "T" he recieved it and then I usually gave him a week off because I threw another in for good measure. And believe me I was not the only one who did that.
3. My hats off to Benny Ewing, he has 2 seniors from a team that one five games. Vinton County has a tradition and Meigs is trying to build one. Meigs played their entire bench in the fourth period....and sure they pressed. But it seemed to me he was trying to build confidence in the boys, and they came back against the Vikings and regained some confidence. It looks like it helped on Tuesday ask Federal Hocking.
4. THe Vikings didn't stop shooting three's or shooting at all for that matter, so why quit playing defense.
5. He didn't run off his best player, the boy played summer ball at two or three schools, and promised he would transfer there and didn't. He quit on his own.
FACT:They were 0-5 with him and 4-1 without him...so how good was he?
6. The Meigs fans are some of the best behaved around, because they domn't hardly cheer. The Alxander fans spit on you and trip you along the baseline and nothing is said. Belpre of course had the famous
I have watched high school sports for 45 years, and I enjoy it. So when you pay your money go and watch the game, root for the players and cut the negative stuff.
DON'T FORGET THEY ARE KID'S TREAT THEM THAT WAY.
There I feel better now.

Wow scooper
Fasteach....I understand where you are coming from.
I don't pay much attention to the some of the VC fans. They acted that way on the Huddle also. They have some great fans over there and I know some of them personally. There's a few at every school.

yeh we need more cheerers. our kids do a great job though. they are loud without getting silly. i would yell more but my wife has the wickedest elbow this side of dusty rhodes!

You must be too young to remember how it used to be at Racine Southern, I have heard horror stories[/quote]

fasteach is correct all of the Meigs players played against Vinton. The only people showing a lack of class is the Vinton fans that are crying because they don't feel they won by enough.
Good luck Meigs! Hope you get another win.

Was this thread about a future game?
I think it was, so Miegs by 15.
Just a note: In my expierience fans, coaches, and players are more irate when a sub par team keeps it close. No matter the situation, score, venue, stage, or personnnell, Players have to continue to play hard and coaches must continue to coach hard and use that moment in time to teach the players, which are just boys, to be the best they can be in any situation they ever come into in life.

Gee, nowhere in my previous posts have I talked about any meigs players, only the "adults" who represent them and "cheer" for them. I consider it sad that fans at meigs are so irritated with coaches and players to the extent that they yell profanities at them.
Anywho, back to the game. Nelsonville will have their hands full tonight, much like every night they step foot on the court. I'll take Meigs by 15

why is it such a big deal that Coach Ewing pressed at the end of the game? Hes losing, what would you do sit back in a 2-3 zone and let them hold the ball until the game is over?he was trying to battle back into the game, you dont teach kids to just quit. you still won the game so stop complaining about it, ITS DONE AND OVER!
