1st team in my opinion
Josh Kellough POY
Justin Kellough
Clay Roll
Matt Miller
Cody Smith

2nd team
Curtis Baker
Corey Cottrill
Jordan Brabson
Bryant Gibson
Kenny Corcoran
You can fight over the rest but I have seen every team, and these guys made a difference for their teams

Looks pretty good.

The only problem I see(and it's not with you) is that I don't think the coaches would vote 3 Huntington players in the top 10. So, I would drop Cottrill to 3rd team, just based on that, even though I think he's one of the top 7 or 8 in the league.

You could throw Matt Workman from PV onto the 2nd team. He does a heck of a lot for his team, IMO. Also, if Baker stays hot, I could see him sneaking on 1st team. If Piketon would've won last night, I could've also seen Brabson being 1st team.

No way baker is second team nor will Corcoran. Workman will be second team as will Houserman from Adena.
Third team will include
Legg-Piketon
Someone form SE
Baker- Unioto?
Big kid form Westfall
Cottrill Huntington

If anyone should be First team for SE it should be Kevin Dunn, he's the only kid on that team that plays with the heart that Tim Pettit played with last year he plays defense, Rebounds and does the rest of the dirty work. He's had about 6-7 Double Doubles.

My vote goes to Clay Roll and Josh Kellough, Co-POY...
Both players are outstanding athletes, and leaders for their respective teams. As of now, the teams are 1 and 2 in the league..for most of the season my vote was strictly Kellough, but after Rolls three 30 pointers in three SVC games and his total dominance and takeover of the 4th quarter at Westfall, he now gets my vote. I know scoring is only part of it, but he's now leading the area in scoring, just a above Josh.

To round out 1st team:
C. Roll
Jo. Kellough
Ju. Kellough
M. Miller
C. Smith

Wrong! Kellough is the most complete player game in and game out.Roll has had some really bad games, but has exploded against poor defenses. I will give him 1st team, but no way does he share POY

Bad games?...If im not mistaken, league wise, he hasnt scored below 18 or 20 all year. If 18 pts is a bad game then wow, Kellough must be putting up huge numbers. Exploded against bad teams?...the three 30 pt games were against Unioto, Westfall and PV. Now out of them two teams, i would only consider PV a BAD team. I wish i had a scorebook or something where i could give exact stats, but i cannot.

I will agree, Kellough is the most complete player. And there is no doubt he is going to be the POY, but i just said i think we should take in consideration a Co-POY.

You are not going to give him 1st team, he is no doubt a first team selection. Im not calling you and and you may prove me wrong, but give me some examples of these so called "bad" games you are talking about.

I've seen Roll and the Kellough boys play once each, and I would put both of the Kellough boys, due to all-around play, above Roll. I know that one game doesn't give me the full story, but that is all I can base my opinion on.

By the way, in the game I saw Roll, he acted like he was THE gift to the world in the way he carried himself before and during the game. Is he always like that?

What game was it that you saw both players play mike?, and how does a person act like THE gift of the world?

no way, is Justin Kellough better than Roll. No way, not even close. The kid is good and he is a smart ball player, who does the little things to help out his bro and the Huntsmen. Roll is a takeover, ball in hand when the game is on the line, 20 pts a night type of player. When the shots arent falling he still draws the defense and then makes plays to set up his teammates. The only part of his game that lacks at times is his defensive intensity. He plays "D" , but sometimes is not in your face, lock down, like he should be.

Like i said, just one mans opinion, Josh Kellough will get player of the year, but i think a Co-POY in Roll is something to think about!

I don't see how you can go with anyone but one of the Kelloughs as POY.

Sportsnut if you could please fill me in on which games Roll played BAD , I would really appreciate it.
The kids leading the area in scoring! 23 ptspg !
My opinion is this , Josh kellough either way will get POY.
But Adena was picked to finish 6th in the SVC ! Roll has carried his team to possible second place finish! A CO-POY isn't such a bad idea in my book!

Agreed Kobe....

Theres only one Kellough that has a chance to get POY. Josh is going to get the award. I was just throwing out a possible situation where the SVC might have Co-POY's.

Justin Kellough is a fine player, and will more than likely be named 1st team. He is no where near his brother's talent, nor Rolls. He is a totally different player than either one of them. He does all the small things that make a difference. Hustle, rebound, "D", get on the floor after loose balls, he just plain creates havok. And having such a fine player at your side doesnt hurt either. The reason Justin gets all his pts is from his brother. Defenses pay so much attention to Josh, Justin goes off. But thats only credit to him. He will get a spot on the first team. But should not be mentioned as POY.

downtown22, The only games that I have Adena and Huntington play were at Piketon. Again, based on these games only, I would put both Kelloughs above Roll for OVERALL play- offense including but not limited to scoring; defense including but not limited to willingness to defend; and demeanor before, during, and after the game. Based on what I saw, Roll is the better jump shooter- he has a beautiful stroke- and Josh Kellough is the better creater and penetrator. He is the spark plug on Huntington's team. Justin Kellough seemed to do a little of everything. I would take any of the three on Piketon's team.

As for my THE gift comment, again, I've only seen Adena once, but if Roll consistently does what he did in that game- bump into opponents for no apparent reason, strut around during warmups like he belonged in the NBA, make comments and faces about EVERY call he disagreed with- well, that's what I mean.

So huh mike you're saying Roll isn't as much as a spark plug as Josh is?

No, I don't think he is. But again, I've only seen him play once, so my opinion is based on that game and that game alone, the same as my opinion of the Kellough boys.

Now, I've seen Piketon play 7 or 8 times this year, and, while they have some good talent, as individuals, I don't think they have a player quite as as talented as Josh Kellough or Roll.

I don't try to sound as if my opinion is the gospel truth or anything, just that...my opinion. I try to base my opinions on the facts as they appear to me. If others have different opinions, that's fine. I'm just one lone voice out of many.

Mike, I can now agree with you. Your right I dont think Roll is quite the "sparkplug" Josh Kellough is, but when the 4th quarter comes around and its time to take over a game, Clay Roll gets the Job done. He scored 18 in the 4th at Westfall, and then 15 or 20 (gazette said 20), in the fourth to take over the Leesburg game....He is the man in crunch time. Although Josh is very good in crunch time also. Both are willing and able to hit the "big one" when the games on the line.

As for being THE gift. All three of the players we are talking about walk with a little pep in their step, all three have that swagger, not just Roll. You have to know the kid, before you judge him. And as far as bumpin other players?...I believe it was Piketons #11 that got the intentional foul for purposely shoving Roll. I would give a couple bumps too if someone was continuously talking and yes #11 was talking alot. But thats basketball, neither at fault, anyone who has ever played ball is guilty of talking trash, and doing a little extra on the court. And once again i will agree, this is one downfall of Rolls game, He is a high energy, highly emotional player. And sometimes his emotions get the best of him. He does get those faces, and does have comments, but unlike some people he does keep them somewhat to himself. Never calling out and official or trying to down grade and official.

All in all, its been a wild and crazy year in the SVC, Adena picked last in the league, and now with Lady Luck on their side they could possibly, maybe, if things fall right....be once again the SVC Champs.

All three players mentioned are great talent in the league, and all have some part of their game better then the other.

I'll rank them like this:
Josh Kellough
Clay Roll
Justin Kellough
