With tournament time about here we all know that teams are seeded pretty much based on their won-lost record at tournament time. I looked at the standing of the four high schools in Gallia County and noticed that the girls teams own a better record than the boys teams.-In the boys Gallia Academy owns a 5-10 mark; River Valley is 4-11; and South Gallia is 2-13.-The Ohio Valley Christian School is 3-10 through Jan. 25, but they play in the tournaments for Christian Schools and don't compete in the Ohio High School Sectionals, District, and etc. The four boys teams have a won lost record of 14-44 through Jan. 25. --Now, the girls are looking better thanks to a sparkling 15-1 by South Gallia; River Valley's girls are 7-10; GAHS is 4-11; and OVCS is 4-8, for a combined record of 30-30. -There are many underclassmen playing on these four teams, so the outlook for the 2008-09 season looks very promising right now.

South Gallia's boys have won 3 of the last 5 with losses coming from DIV III Rock Hill and Westfall. South Gallia's junior High boys have only lost 2 games and both of those were to Chesapeake. I think the future is bright for SG.

Junior High and Current Varsity records, along with number of returning athletes do play a role in the future; however, they are not the end-all, be-all determining factors.
An optimistic attitude can also help!
As I have said on other posts, SG is having a down year; they may have a couple.
I believe there is good coaching down there and the kids are good kids.
You also need to realize that talent fluctuations occur.
SG will bounce back in the next couple of years, not only in boys basketball, but in football as well.
Keep playing and training hard to ALL SG athletes.

I think there will be a couple more years atleast until they get back to a .500 season.
