So I'm guessing I'm the only one who has any predictions?
Usually no one agrees with me...

Matt Jenkins of Wheelersburg will be first team SOC. He might not score that much, but he will be there, in addition to their obvious one.

im with waydowntown with the pick of dickerson from east. i guess he was sick for the east @ western game, but i couldnt tell! that boy can shoot! for western id have to go with #31. i mean the kid is a beast! i cant imaagine what kind of stats he would have if the coach played him right. 2/8/08 is going to be one nailbiter of a game. western @ NB for the league... if NB wins, j. howell gets POY, if Western, then the shanks kid.

With Symmes Valley taking the SOC 1 title-it would seem logical for all 4 of those seniors to get the nod, Capper, Johnson, Smith and M. Tibbs. Their improvement as the season has gone on has been impressive.

thats talkin' too political. just being a senior shouldnt make you a shue in. i realize that SV won the league, but it wasnt like they won it by a great majority of wins. the team itself won, but that doesnt mean that the PLAYER OF THE YEAR played for them. they won TEAM of the year, in the SOC I anyways. but the player with the stats to back it up should receive the reward. give credit where credit is due, man.

Not talking about player of the year....I'm talking about all SOC 1 TEAM.
Player of the year is a different string...

And...this is your post from before where you are talking about POY...I agree that just because you win SOC doesn't mean you get the POY...so I guess I don't understand this posting by you?? I'm just asking for opinions, dude...Would like to see SV at least be part of the conversation...

vikingfan-
my bad on the whole "Player of the year is a different string" i think i'd know whats going on , i mean i DID start this thread...
my reasoning for that post was 1. western had just played East on 2/1 so it was very fresh in my mind about how their players were, 2. i never dreamed SV would beat NB in the last game ESPECIALLY for the league title. i know how new boston plays in a have to win situation, and 3. Shanks from western has the stats to back up the title . THATS my opinion.

DOES ANY ONE KNOW WHEN THEY WILL RELEISE THE ALL STARS TEAMS IN THE SOC DIVISION 1 & 2. TODAY THEY RELEASED THE ALL DISTRICT TEAMS, BUT THE SOC HAS NOT RELEASED THERE ALL STARS. DOESN'T MAKE ANY SINCE TO ME.

Why him as coach of the year?
I'd have to say Coach Barrick and not just because I follow the Burg , but because of Burg winning the SOC this year after losing all that they did from last years team. There was some people on here picking the Burg as low as 3rd, with Waverly and Oak Hill ahead of them. If it wasn't for the first Oak Hill game being played so close to the start of the season, I think Burg would have been undefeated in league play.
Barrick has done a great job of getting the best out of his players once again. With only one true star in Spradlin returning this year, it looked like anything other than a SOC championship team, but he gave certain players specific roles and they have responded to those roles 100%.
