Post by FrankieG »

Everyone come out to support this GREAT group of seniors! Boys and girls basketball (both TVC Ohio Champs!), cheerleaders, band-members, and wrestler's!
Stop by your concession stand for a refreshing treat and the best popcorn in Ohio!!
The VCHS Athletic Boosters will also be selling "Dual TVC t-shirts", you HAVE to see them! Get your shirt to wear to all the post-season games!!
Good Luck to all the Seniors!!!  :-D
(Mom and Dad are so proud of you Dut!)
Good luck Vikes!! :-D

Best of luck to the Vinton County seniors. They have a nice class of kids there all through their programs.

I hope both the boys and the girls basketball teams have a nice run in their tourneys.

I am sure Hawkeye is very proud of these boys; after all, he has put a lot of time in being Dut's press agent! ;-) All joking aside, 11 of the 12 varsity players were a member of either the McArthur Buckeyes or the Bud's BP biddy league teams; 9 of the 12 played on a SEO Storm AAU team (I think my numbers are right). Hats off to Bob Grillo, Frank Guthrie, the late John Prater, Doug Eberts, Terry Hale and all the coaches that volunteer their time for building a strong foundation of basketball in Vinton County. These are great programs that continue to produce good quality ball players for the future in Vinton County.

But..................................Hawkeye IS a crybaby!

This is true!!! Dut has fans scattered throughout the country. And we are all very proud of his acomplishments. Congrats on a great highschool career. And as a bonus you get to play your last homecoming against Wellston. Does it get any better for a VC gard?

Crybaby!

I can't believe Captain Jack would ever smart off to Hawkeye. :)

Its hard to believe Friday night will be the last time these seniors will play a game on the Viking floor. ALL of these guys have contributed to the success of VC's program.

I do hope the entire varsity team comes out with more intensity against Wellston. Although Alex and Meigs deserve some credit, in the past two games Vinton County has come out real flat. It looked like Combs got so ticked in the first half of the Meigs game that his head turned Maroon. Great school spirit for a head coach, I guess.

Ms. Frankie G., I believe your numbers are correct. It is so hard to believe it seems just like yesterday these boys were lacing them up as third graders. I am looking forward to tomorrow night, and then again I am not. It will be a wonderful evening and I do hope everyone comes out for the celebration.

And yeah, yeah, call me whatever you want. I am not afraid to say I love those boys, very proud of them win or lose and I know that they will be successful in whatever they do as adults . Also, I know in my heart that John is looking in and I am sure he will shed a tear or two, just like my crybaby self.

Not only will it be an emotional night for the departing seniors, but this will also be Coach John Royster's final home game. He has had an amazing tenure at VC and he will be missed greatly. I don't think he'd want the last game to be against any other team than his alma mater, Wellston.

Maybe after the game, hawkeye, you can watch Steel Magnolias.

There's a faculty member named Chris Eldridge who idolizes him so I'm sure he will be heart-broken.

Wellston has slowed it down and V.C. is ice cold...not getting the ball inside at all.
