Hillsboro might as well stop at Roosters and skip the game. The Indians will start Barrera (Soph), Carroll (Freshman), Ames (Senior), Duff (Senior), and Grazilla (Senior). They have lost a few players (starters) for different reasons. Key players coming off bench are Bagshaw (Junior - good player but makes too many mistakes and takes ill advised shots), Edison (Junior) -sees floor well and probably should be starting point guard ( he has better game than he has shown this year), Turner (Soph) - quick guard that can keep up with Cavs speed, but lacks experience. They are young program with future potential, but will not compete long in this game unless they can find a way to shorten it. Carroll will be a very good point guard someday, but right now he is not up to speed - Hitchens will have his way with Carroll. When Duff and Grazilla are hot, they shoot lights out - but when cold, they are ice. Boro has no one to compete with Cavs height and quickness. Been a disappointing year here on the reservation, but reserve, freshman, and 8th grade all give promise for a bright future. Just my opinion.

As a VC fan I am more than a little disapointed that Chilly lost their last game to the Ville. Coach K will now have his players more focused and ready to play than ever. I feel sorry for the Indians cause this Chilly team probably feels as if they have something to prove now. Many times a late season loss will help a team and I think this is the case for the CAVS.
Cavs 81
Indians 52

Totally agree with you on the focus. No celebrations last Saturday. Just memories of Z-Ville cutting down the nets in the "HAT". Cavs will be focused and on full throttle tomorrow. Not sure what Hillsboro has or does not have, but if the Cavs play their own game and take care of business, we will get that trip to the Convo.
I fully expect some serious intensity out of the gate tomorrow afternoon. I would not want to be the guy trying to stop Ray Chambers or Seth Dawes on the glass. I also would not want to be handling the ball against the pressure.
GO CAVS!!!

Diehard, all Cavalier fans hope to see that exact post just replace Hillsboro with six other tournament teams. If that happens then what a ride it will be!

Cavs win in a ho-hum effort at Southeastern today. Congrats on the Sectional title. Cavs came out and got after it early and took an early 16 pt 1st quarter lead. After that the game really had zero rhythm. #23 for the Boro kept them in the game as he knocked down shot after shot.
Overall, Cavs went about the game business like and got the W. However, I believe our Defense still needs to pick it up. Coach K. really did not unleash any real full court pressure after the 1st qtr, until the 4th quarter in which we had a final spurt.
Good offensive balance, but I was a bit confused on the substitution patterns today. Not trying to be arm chair qb, but I thought we would see an onslaught of the top 6-7 for 3 qtrs and then clear the bench. My guess is Smith and Benson got more minutes then Dawes and possible Beverly. Hump sat with two fouls some in the first half and then he sat for about a 2 minute stretch early in the 3rd.
Individually, Hump with 22, Chambers with 15 and Knights with a nice 14 lead the way. Both Dawes and Beverly were in the 7-8 range. On the boards, Chambers pretty much owned them as I thought he would.
Team wise, WBEX reported the Cavs shot over 54%, but the Boro shot a respectful 44% (or so). I thought we gave them to many open looks and they knocked them down. Cavs shot poorly from the FT line (the few we did shot) and the Boro knocked down almost all of theres.
I probably sound like the Cavs did not play well, and I actually believe that. This is 4 straight, that I did not like the defensive intensity, foot work and also flow on offense. The effort is there, so we are fine, but we do have to pick it up. I am sure Coach K. will be back at it Monday afternoon as we get ready for a rematch with the Marietta Tigers who gave us fits for 2 plus quarters earlier in the year.
GO CAVS!!!

Also wanted to put a single post out to acknowledge, one of Ross Counties legends of coaching Tom Cuppett made it out to see the Cavs this afternoon. It was great to see him out. He looks great and still has that defensive mindset.
GO CAVS!!!

Hitch
Gary should let the man sit on the bench on his march to the Schott.
Could you imagine how much that would mean to the Coach and the fans of the Cavs.
