I think this is an important game for Western. We hung with this team earlier in the season, and I think that for the teams confidence moving forward with the rest of the season, and into the off season they need this win. I beieve in this team, whether we are a year, or two from seeing them produce quality wins, (who knows), we just need to back them now. I think they get it done tonight. Indians by 6! Go Western!!!!

Cmon Lightle04 don't be a sore loser. You can't just post when your team is playing well and not post when things go bad! Look back at the number of posts you had in the preseason and through the half way point, and here lately you won't even give a score. We know you are at all of the games and would be all over this thread if the Indians had won. How do they lose "Fairly BIG" at home to a team that had only won 1 game all year and that was on their own floor by a point or two? What is going on? This team started off winning 2 of their first 4 games and then played well against tough competition then they turn around and lose big to the two teams they beat early and get beaten "fairly big" by a team that barely beat them on their own floor. There should be more improvement than that at this point in the season.

Pavillion, no reason for you to treat lightle that way. He is one of the best posters on here. His kid has been playing hurt and now may have to sit for a while. How about cutting him a break. Nothing like being a jerk when you dont even know what is going on.

Lightle has a recurring knee issue, don't know all the details, but he had similar issue a couple of years ago. Hope he can make it back for tournaments. We need him in the lineup, if for nothing else the experience going into his senior year. He's a tough kid, if it's possible he will be back sooner, rather than later.

Sorry there Pavilion I see you have missed my wit and charm. I go to my boys games, our high school girls games my nieces jr high games and my youngest son's 6th grade ball is now in swing so that being said what are you looking for me to say ? I'm not going to throw gas on the fire your trying to start on here I support my boys and all the kids out here my oldest son has been playing with Alsgood Slaghters disease for 3 years now it hurts him alot when he is getting ready to grow. For 4 weeks now he has been fighting it playing with pain that makes it almost impossible for him to run jump or even play. He is a leader on the team he leads them in scoreing and is first or second in steals, asst, and about third in reb. So that could explained some of the drop off in the teams play take one of if not the best player off any team in the league and put younger less experienced kids in and it will effect any team.

Hope the Lightle boy heals up and finishes well. Personally, I think many in latham just expected too big of a turnaround this year. It is difficult to go from no wins to 10+ wins which is what some of the Indian faithful were expecting?

Western has some talented freshman. They will be more competitive next year and then probably solid the 2 following years. Does the freshman class have any good players following them in junior high?

Lightle04, I apologize for how I came across. I just like to follow the SOC teams and you were always the one on here providing information on the Indians. When you werent on here as much lately I figured you were one of those bandwagon supporters ( clearly you are not ) . I hope your son gets better and can play the remainder of the year and has a great senior season. Please accept my apology and continue to give updates on the indians and their opponents in the SOC.

Eaglesnest-your exactly right, there were a lot of folks from out here that thought that getting Coach Jordan would fix everything(I was not one). He needs this summer with the younger kids to learn this new system. They will get there, there's definitely talent in the freshman class, as well as a couple sophomores that should b ready by next season, and then we should start seeing a much improved competitive team. The biggest thing this JV team needs to work on is team ball, if they can figure it out then the sky is the limit. On varsity we need 7-8 players who r as committed, and hard working as the Knauff boy, if so this year would have been at least an 8,9,or10 win season. They havent figured out that the have an extra gear.
As far as Jr high kids there r a few with potential, and they r getting good coaching at jr high, and bitty ball finally. Good to see Ivan Rigsby helping out down there, good basketball mind, and Remington is doing a great job w the kids. We haven't had good teachers of the fundamentals, and game at that level for some time. This is going to improve our varsity in the coming years.

With the non-league schedule they had this year there was no way they were going to win 10+ games. People were actually saying 10+ wins this year?

Have a few friends on that side of the county that were talking a 500 season after they got 2 wins early.

Yeah I heard it, I think it was just hope. When u go 0 for 21 a season ago and u get a couple of early wins people go crazy. But, it was oblivious when we played those teams the second time around they had improved an we had not.

No harm done Pavilion and I'm sorry if I came off like a butt it has been frustrateing for us out here for a few years now I thought comeing in this year we could get 3-7 wins and we wer ahead 3 min into the 4th in 3 other games this year we just couldn't finish them off . But the kids can play hard and maybe finish strong and build towards next year. And my son is a tuff kid he has some therapy to go to but if he gets to rest his knees for a couple weeks he should be able to play come tourney time.

I too thought western could only win 3-5 games this season. When I watched them earlier they had an exchange student that gave them good minutes. Is he no longer on the team?
