Ironton Basketball 2008
Some opinions on this team?
I think this team will have a very deep bench
With Green, Morris, Kochendorfer(sp), and Schweickart all leading the way.
And possibly a big guy....
Thoughts?

... looks like I'town has jumped to the forefront of the SEOAL with the addition of size in Michael Lamb (along with his outside 3 ball threat) ... going to be a very interesting season to watch the Tigers with Lamb in the mix ... IF this transfer is a go - look for Ironton to have a say in who the SEOAL Champ will be on the day of champions ...

Re: Ironton Basketball 2008
Tigers should field another competitive team......and with the addition of Lamb(if he is going to Ironton) should give them a much needed presence inside.......Green should have a good scoring year, with Kochendorfer, Lucas, and Schwieckart being a nice supporting cast. Not sure as to who will play the point, but that will be an important part to the success of the 2008-09 Fighting Tigers.

If this transfer is true-it gives me another reason to cheer for the TIGERS He will make a great addition but I hate to see him leave FHS.

He would be a great addition to our team...
I have talked to him a few times...
I heard he was a heck of a football player too

The rumor mill is churning hard in Proctorville. Lamb is already gone from what is being said in P-ville. I have also heard that Bloomfield and Hatfield (both capable of handling the ball) are considering moves to Ironton. On top of that, if Ironton could find a way to lure Coach Belville to the sidelines, it seems that Ironton will be loading up on all fronts.

It was going to be an exciting season for the Tigers next year anyhow with the talent they have returning and the addition of last years Froshmen class. Lamb will be a great addition to this team and if you add the other two guys mentioned above to the roster WOW......it will be a very exciting season in Tiger Town.

Johnathon Schweickart is going international.
Well, sort of. He isn’t going overseas, but he will be playing against competition from other countries.
With an impressive performance at the USA Junior Nationals “All-State†high school basketball competition, Schweickart has been selected to play for the team representing Ohio in the prestigious USA Junior Nationals International Basketball Championship to be held July 21-27 in Columbus.
Schweickart, a junior at Ironton High School, was a starting forward for the Fighting Tigers this past season and helped the team to the Division III district finals for the sixth straight year.
Schweickart competed against more than 300 boys from across the state in grades 9-12 to earn a position on the team.
Selection of team members is based on athletes who demonstrate advanced skills, team leadership, competitive spirit, and good sportsmanship.
The USA Junior Nationals provide information about participating athletes to educational institutions throughout the United States and Canada for possible scholarship opportunities.
Besides basketball, Schweickart was an all-league selection in football. The Ironton quarterback was 78 of 137 for 57 percent and 1,074 yards. He threw four touchdown passes.
Johnathon is the son of Christi Schweickart and Michael Taylor of Ironton.
