Re: Logan @ Portsmouth, 2/10
The Trojans had a tough test at Logan.........PHS had a 14 point lead early in the second half, but the Chieftains rallied to tie the game at 53 before the Trojans prevailed 62-57............Luke Miller was on fire for LHS, scoring 31 of the Chieftains 57 points........Portsmouth has to keep him in check.

A win vs. the Chieftains will give Coach Eugene Collins his 50th win as PHS head coach in just his 3rd year......his record right now stands at 49-14.......we are blessed to have him as the head coach of the Trojans!!

Bigdawg...What was the JV score? Gallipolis JVs upset unbeaten Chillicothe 43-38 at Chilly. Little Cavs first league loss (8-1). Warren JVs beat Jackson, 57-15.

Congratulations to the Trojans on the win.........and to Dion McKinley on a SPECIAL SENIOR NIGHT!!........scoring 42 points in his last home game was truly a moment I will always remember.........and he put himself in the record book, surpassing the GREAT Larry Hisle (First Team All-American in 1965).
Also I want to commend the Chieftains.......they scrapped, battled, and fought but in the end they had no answer for Dion.........still, I'm glad we won't have to face Logan in the tournament.........they have the style of play that can give favored opponents fits.
Had a great talk with Coach Helber after the game, and commended his kids for their efforts.......he was very nice and hopes that the Trojans can make a long tourney run........LHS only graduates 3 players, including Luke Miller, whom I spoke to after the game.......I think Luke can definitely play at the next level..........I look for Logan to be vastly improved in 2012-2013.
Other outstanding scoring efforts by Trojans of the recent past:
39 points.........Wayne Evans vs. Marietta in 2010-2011
35 points.........Wayne Evans vs. Wheelersburg in 2010-2011
34 points.........Tory Horne vs. Chillicothe in 2009-2010
33 points.........Forrest Johnson vs. Jackson in 2009-2010
Also, the win marked the 50th for Coach Eugene Collins in just his 3rd year.......he has a glittering record of 50-14.
1 more win by the Trojans will tie them with the 1979, 1987, 1990, and 1991 team for the second most regular season wins in school history........18.
GO TROJANS!!!
