Ironton should be an exciting team to watch this season. Ironton returns alot of talent that should make a nice run in the playoffs. The players that had significant playing time last year or you could say starters (due to the way Coach Lafon subs) are:

Jon Schweickart.........6'2...SR......Good shooter and rebounder.
Tim Kochendoerfer.....6'2...JR.......Good ball handler that can drive to the basket.
Lukas Morris.............6'0...SR......Great rebounder with springs in his legs. Can dunk at 6'.
Dustin Green............6'2....SR......Great ball handler that can hit the trifecta, can dunk at 6'2.
Erin Edens...............6'1....JR......Good size body who can get inside.
Robbie Webb............6'4....SO......Good size body that works hard inside started last year as a Froshmen.
Michael Lamb...........6'5....SR.......Started for Fairland IMO their best player, he can shoot from anywhere.

Add in the other players and the talented Sophomores to be, which there was many and this will be a really exciting team to watch.

GO TIGERS....

Ironton will have another very competitive team that will challenge for the SEOAL crown......with the addition of Lamb, the Tigers will have a solid presence in the paint, but he can also step outside and nail the perimeter shot.

Quality play at the point guard position will be most critical to the Tigers success. I think that IHS has a solid cast of players, including the bench, but whoever runs the show out top can glue it all together. That will most likely be the telling tale on how successful the 2008-09 season can be for Ironton.

You must not have ever seen Lamb play he is scared of the paint. He stands outside and shoots three's. If he would play in the paint Fairland would have been better than they were last year. Their coach last year sucked. I think they had the most talent of any team in the OVC. Hatfield, Lamb, Baumgardner. I saw them play South Point twice and they should have won both games. The one game Mayo just went off but they still had a chance but Lamb was standing outside.

bdawg1: Actually, I have seen Lamb play probably 6-7 times, and from the games I saw, he scored in the paint with short jumpers......he also demostrated the ability to hit the outside shot. I would say that he is not the classic low post player, but considering what Ironton has coming back, he most likely be asked to provide a presence down low. That doesn't mean he will be exclusively around the basket, but with his size it is reasonable to expect that he will grab his share of rebounds and score close in.

Anyone have Irontons schedule? On there website there is one open date and I believe that is the game with Piketon. I need it to complete Piketons schedule. I left a voicemail with Irontons AD but waiting and hoping someone on here would know.

So, is Lamb living in Ironton this year? With that new transfer rule, he would have to sit out a year if he doesn't live in the district

I do know that during Christmas break that Ironton will put on a holiday shoot out with some big named schools coming in. Haven't seen that schedule yet but I think Ironton is playing Columbus Brookhaven.

That's a good lineup for the Tigers with a deep bench this year. The way Coach Lafon subs can ware down teams, which will be a benifit this year with such a deep bench.
