Best TVC Hocking Player the first few weeks?

Post by 1wish »

?
I know its a little early but its fun to talk about

Not just cause he is my cousin but Carnahan from Reedsville is avg. 20 points a game and is boxed and one alot. Also controls the game

What do you guys think?
iv seen Eastern, southern, trimble and wahama so far

Trimble- no one really

Southern- I like the Roberts kid. Roberts is by far the strongest kid iv seen so far. A force inside

wahama- I like the soph. Zuspan will be a fine ball player for years to come. Can shoot and drive

Only way Carnahan gets it is if Eastern finishes first or second POY doesn't go to a player in the middle of the pack and I don't think Eastern will finish that high

Don't believe this thread is about POY, but is about the best players in the first few weeks of the season and Carnahan has been just that, one of the best in the first few weeks.

Everybody predicted eastern to finish at the bottom. Say they finish 5th or higher I believe he should win it

Jake Ullman, sophomore from Belpre is going to be very, very good ball player. I believe he's had 17 and 20 so far and is also playing PG for Belpre.

Absolutely Jake is going to be a very good player in the TVC Hocking.Jake scored well as a Freshman last year and he is picking up where he left off.He has actually scored 19&20 points in the two losses against two good teams.I look for Jake to be among the top scorers in the TVC this year.

While some teams have only played 2 or 3 games at most it is too early to crown a player of the year. Carnahan is off to a good start but lets see what happens when he runs into a team that plays some defense. It seems to me this thread is about who is the leading scorers not who is the best player. The best player in the Hocking should be about more than scoring. Give me a player who scores, rebounds, has assists and steals over someone who just scores. The better teams in the Hocking are going to have balanced scoring because they have more than one player. The one man teams are always going to put up more points because they shoot the ball the majority of the time. I think someone off of Southern or South Gallia should win it because they have the most balanced teams but that will hurt them because they will have a different player leading them in scoring. Last year one of our players took home the award but Eastern had the best team so who knows.

Lets see what he does against Southern, South Gallia and Fed Hock this week with Howie's game plan. Trimble is way down this year. The better coaches in the league will make adjustments to try and shut him down and make someone else beat them. So lets wait and see what happens.

Haner is a solid player from south gallia... Only played one game against Waterford... He had 20. And also either of the matneys from south gallia can do some scoring

Went on line and looked at your paper Daily Sentinel it had all the stats and full stories for the games this season.
Eastern
Carnahan (vs Trimble) 17pts
Carnahan (vs Alex) 20pts 8 rebs
Carnahan (vs Meigs) 21pts

Southern
Taylor (vs River Valley) 16pts
Roberts (vs River Valley) 13pts 10 rebs
Roseberry (vs River Valley) 12pts 12 rebs
Roseberry (vs Wahama) 19pts 12 rebs
Taylor (vs Wahama) 13pts
Roberts (vs Wahama) 13pts

South Gallia
Hanner (vs Waterford) 20pts
Dan Mattney (vs Waterford) 17pts

Waterford
Lang (vs South Gallia) 15pts

I tried to look on line and get Athens county players but the Messenger wouldn't show it but there are a few names to throw in the mix.

The newspaper goes by the official book not supermamma's napkin stats. I was kind of rooting for Eastern before they got on here bragging now I am kind of rooting for Howie to shut them up.

Idk if bragging is the right word happy, caught off guard by the good start might be appropriate. No one gave them or this new coach a chance in there first 3 so I think they are more proud than anything
