has Ashland's enrollment been going down like Ironton and Portsmouth in recent years? back in my day (mid 70's) they were a beast. I think when ironton beat them in '77 it was the first time in 17 years. And i think they had 3 guys who were 6'10 or bigger, although that might have been 78 or 79. They were nationally ranked for a while that year. And going back before my time, they were , if I've been told correctly "mythical national champs' in 1960 or 61. Portsmouth was ohio's big school (AAA) champ , Huntington was WV big school champ, and Ashland beat them both that year. They have one helluva tradition, although it has lost its luster in recent years. I'd love to Portsmouth and Ashland get back to where they were. I think when ashland plays boyd county they still get 6 to 7 thousand at that game.

Jv starts at 6:00

Varsity usually starts at 7:30
