Manchester has a nice stretch of SHL games coming up, starting with this one followed by Ripley and North Adams. I think the Hounds have the advantage since they will have already played two games but it should be a great matchup.

This should be a good match up...I think at this point there is no clear favorite. One would most likely go with Manchester being the Peebles lost a lot more, but on the other side of things Peebles gained a lot more with Beau Justice on the horizon and two very nice JV players. I think the difference in the game will be Jake Daniels. If he can assert himself down low the Hounds shouldn't have an answer for him, but that being said I think the hounds defensive pressure could bother some of Peebles young kids. I expect Arey and Combs to both have nice performances but it's going to be all about who steps up. Peebles- Justice?Daniels? Manchester- West? Ricketts? Should be an exciting game...
I'm going to say............................................Peebles by 6
I think Arey will have a nice game plan to contain Combs and make someone else beat them!
Good Luck to both teams, should be an exciting game! But Combs is player of the year for a reason, I would not be surprised at all if he goes off! and it ends up being manchester by 9!

This is a tough pick at this point in the year!

...............and that my friends, is the ugly truth!!!!!

I agree that it will be to Manchester's advantage too have two games under their belts by the time they play. This will be a massive test for our guys considering Manchester will be the strongest team we play in league all season and the fact that some of our players are just now stepping into leadership roles, and most of them varsity playing time in general. This year's team is pretty much just last year's JV squad with Daniels, Arey, and Justice added. All the pieces are there to put together a pretty good season but they have to bring 110% from the very beginning. We have been very sporadic this summer. Some days we look like the globetrotters and others days a JV team. This summer we have beat South Webster, beat Huntington, beat Piketon, stayed close to Chesapeake, played a close one with Webster the second time, and played Walnut Ridge even but we have also lost to some teams we should have played better against(Washington Court House, Waverly, Chillicothe, and Zane Trace third time we played them). With that being said this should be a good one. I cant wait to see how things shake out.

People talk about what Peebles lost this year but you have to remember the scoring that Manchester also lost. For that reason alone, Peebles by double digits.

Also, I believe fouls will be a factor involved in the outcome of this game. Ready to see if the refs will call it tight or let the boys play.

Peebles lost a TON of more scoring than Manchester did. Peebles lost Justice and Countryman who were putting up over 40 ppg! so if it was based on scoring the edge would definitely be with manchester. IMO

Overrated??? Where exactly are they ranked? Manchester is a good team and have one of the best players in the area. Peebles is also a good team and this should be a good game.

Overrated are u serious...they are one of the best teams in seo and have arguably the best player in seo...that's nonsense for u to even say that...peebles will be a good team this year but let's see wat they can do without blake justice...who are they gonna have that can score 20+ every night..

I dont think Peebles is going to be the type of team to have to have a guy get 20 plus a night. Daniels may be capable, but I think they are going to share the ball and potentially have multiple guys in double figures. Lets not forget Manchester us also losing a 20ppg performer. I think its too early to call anyone overrated. Manchester did't look great @ CNE but rebounded with a nice win. Peebles still has a lot to prove before they can be looked at as an elite team. I think they definitely have the potential! but they haven't even played a varsity game as a group! Manchester is going to have two games under their belt! (big advantage). Peebles has some kids coming in like the two JV kids and justice, but they have no in game experience. Should be a nice match up, but will probably be a more accurate match up later in the year. That being said Combs and Loop are the clear front runners for division IV player of the year and whoever has the assignment of guarding combs will have their hands full.

This game will come down to who's defense plays better and who shares the ball more...it'll be a hostile environment but hopefully fairly played and the refs just let the boys play...combs is one of the toughest players in this area to guard....defintely gonna be an intense game...can't wait to see it

One question, if Combs is off this friday, which could happen to any player on any given day, who will be there to pick up the scoring for Man.? Peebles is a more sound TEAM with the potential for multiple players in double figures.

I am staying with Peebles for this reason, Man. has Combs; Peebles has a Team.

With all being said, this is going to be one heck of a game.
