First game in the ECOL for JD Secrest's tiger squad. Marietta handled Fed Hock and Zanesville lost to East Liverpool in each teams first game. Gonna be a packed house at Sutton Gymnasium. Thoughts, predictions, etc.

Zanesville will put up a fight, but Marietta's depth will pull them through in the end by a final score of 54-47.

Zanesville comes in with a big advantage and that is at the coaching position with Aronholt. He is one of the best high school coaches in the area. But with that being said he can't play for the team. Thats why I like Marietta to pull out the win in this matchup but it will be a struggle.

Marietta- 57
Zanesville- 55

Zanesville by 10. Marietta has relatively no inside presence and it will be exposed.

I have heard a rumor that Zanesville has a couple kids suspended and thats why they struggled against East Liverpool?
Anyone else know anything about that?

Going to be a great game, and test for the Tigers. As el savior said, this is a relatively small team size wise and I think Zanesville can use that to their advantage.

Also kind of going off what Bud said, as someone who follows the Tigers, we cant forget, as we look back on last year, they were outcoached against Warren last year 2/3 times and with a top notch coach with Zanesville that should be tested again, and they did struggle when they played quality teams.

Zanesville wins this game close, most importantly though, Marietta will get a huge test, hopefully it will be a win but if not they need this test early in the season, fed hock and frontier were not the tests they need.

from that roster i really don't see a size advantage for zanesville. regardless it's gonna be a tough game for both teams.

They do though, have 2 Senior Forwards and a Junior as well...big game experience helps.

Glad to see the two teams playing again!

I hope the Tigers can pull this out, but ZHS will be one of the better teams they face all year. ZHS by 10.
