Dont see Coach Combs being easy on the boyz in practice this week after that pitiful ZT game. VC boyz got more talent and depth on the bench than Jackson. I figure a big comeback for VC this game. Vinton County by 20+ Any other thougts ?

Neither Zane Trace or Vinton County played well Saturday night.
They will bounce back to defeat Jackson soundly.

If VC had a lesser coach I'd say Jackson has a chance to keep it very close.

Jackson is winless, but IMO are better (and improving) than last year.

We were hideous missing 20+ layups and were tied with Athens til mid 3rd qtr.

VC losing vs ZT hurts Jackson's chances to catch VC a little off focus.

From the did you know department:

Last season, Vinton County's school record 33-game regular-season win streak was snapped by Huntington out of the SVC on Dec. 28, 2007. The next night, VC defeated Jackson 80-45 to begin a new 16-game regular-season win streak which was snapped on Saturday night, Dec. 27, 2008 by Zane Trace, also out of the SVC. Almost an exact 365 days without a regular-season loss. The next opponent for the Vikings: Jackson.

More from the "Did you know department"

5 out of every 4 people don't understand fractions

OK, actually I've got nothing........but was thinking back to last year when we faced VC after the tough loss to Huntington. No Dustin Guthrie and we have a coach with 550+ more wins than last year.

I really think Jackson can make it a good game.

Ijust dont see the talent on the Jackson bench close to the talent on the VC bench. Vinton County aint gonna get caught napping again. Especially when you consider they have a tougher road game against Trimble 4 nites later AND they cannot let Alexander get a lead in TVC standings. No Jackson win here. Not even close. VC by 20+

The bench is definately a good thing.....but I've seen a 6 player rotation make it to the elite 8.

I'll be disappointed with a 20+ point loss.

It was 365 days to be exact, 2008 is a leap year. This year will also have a leap second, it will take the ball to drop in eleven seconds, this New Year's Eve.

This game will be closer then last year. First, Jackson is getting people in better positions than years past. They're a little bit more disciplined this year and with Dobbins getting some time in, they're gonna get better.

Secondly, VC doesn't have a someone who's gonna chalk-up 25 a night and right now, they're not knocking down three's the way they did last year.

I expect VC to win, but wouldn't be completely surprised by Jordan and the Ironmen making things interesting. I'm looking forward to seeing this one.

I've heard rumors that Braylen Edwards will be on hand tonight with Ryan Secrest to do the dropping of the ball.

Ironman 02...According to one poster, Chillicothe's reserves won 54-21 last night over the Ironboys. Was that a correct score? Thanks.

My guess is VC wins this one 72-39.

I don't believe it will be that type of game....but I was wrong about Chilly.

Jottings.......I'm 92, not 02. Ironman02 doesn't keep up with too much basketball stuff. He is more informative on the football team and the band.

As for teh JV score, I don't know as I was at another game that night.

Vinton county is going to take out every little bit of frustration out on this jackson team that they have built up inside them after the horrible performance against ZT... VC will choose the score... to many threats for the ironmen to handle... lack of size being a big issue :122247 :122247 :122247

Vinton County 76
Jackson 37
